GENERAL PRESENTATION
The SOCIETY FOR HYDRAULICS, ENVIRONMENT AND REHABILITATION SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils
s.a. is a Belgian consulting engineers company founded in 1985; mainly working in developing countries
worldwide (Africa, Asia and America). The headquarters are located in Namur (Belgium) since 1997.
SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils s.a. has been created by a group of experts : engineers, architects,
hydrogeologists and economists. It is totally independent of any group or consortium.
SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils s.a. is a consulting-engineers company specialized in water supply, sanitation,
rural development, environment, irrigation, agriculture, breeding, rural infrastructures and constructions,
project’s evaluations, rehabilitation, environmental protection, agro-industrial projects, hydro-agricultural
projects, territorial management, GIS (Geographical Information System) and training.
SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils s.a. is registered by the Walloon Region as Author of Environmental Impact
Assessment for water management, solid waste management, mines and quarries. It also obtained its
approval « Soil Pollution ».
SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils s.a. has carried out more than 700 studies and projects for private investors,
governments, bilateral fund raisers; and all the multilateral fund raisers and financing organisations (World
Bank Group, European Union, Asian Development Bank, Africa Development Bank, Interamerican
Development Bank…).
SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils s.a. has several sub-offices and agencies in Europe, Africa, America and Asia.
Through its agencies, it utilizes its personal, national and international consultants in order to use the local
capacities as well as possible and to reinforce the transfers of knowledge and technologies. The company
received the « Royal Export Award 2000 », which selects Belgian companies with particularly performing
exporting results on foreign markets.
SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils s.a. has its own network of more than 6.000 highly specialised consultants
who are permanently on hand to seek solutions for the company projects or activities.
Moreover, the company is ISO 9001 certified since September 2000 and realise an annual turnover of
5.000.000 €.
