ThirtypercentofricedemandinMalaysiaisfulfilledbyimport.SRIisaremarkableinnovationinfarmingtechniquesthatgivessignificantinfluenceontheyieldofricewhencomparedwiththeconventionalmethod(Menete,2008).SRIissaidtobethebestwaytobepracticedbyfarmerstobringanewkindofgreenrevolutionthatreliesonecosystemservicestoincreaseyields(Uphoff2013).However,theadoptionofSRIinMalaysiaisobservedmuchslowerthanexpected.ThisstudyinvestigatesfactorsthatdetermineadoptionofSRIbythechampionsandfarmerswhopromoteandpracticetheSRImethodsinthestateofKedah.
