Generated substantial benefits by out sourcing the in house manufacture of components & sub –
assemblies as part of Make Vs. Buy Project ( Ex. Machined Components , Window Sash ( Frames ) ,
Hinges , Latches , Profiles , etc ).
By introducing the Zero Based Costing – better visibility inthe Cost details of the offers for many inputs
was achieved for improved negotiations.
Indigenization of Rubber Beadings , Seals , Handles , Hinges & Latches etc. – resulting in substantial
reductions in the procurement and inventory carrying costs.
Achieved better price & deliveries with vendors by running the (consolidated )Master MRP ( Materials
Requirement Planning) for all the regular projects, and separate MRP’s for all the NPD’s ( New Project
Development) which improved the visibility regarding the volumes and the requirement timings of all
the inputs.
Implemented a system of firm and tentative staggered delivery schedules on the vendors for all the
runner items (regularly needed inputs) as per the PPC Plan. This resulted in a substantial reduction of
the periodical liability and the inventory holding costs resulting in achieving an improved ITR
(Inventory Turn-over Ratio).
Achieved Logistics Cost reduction in handling Imports & exports by identifying the consolidation of the
shipments i.e., FCL or LCL depending on the volume & shipment value.
Negotiated the conversion of payment terms with overseas vendors from 100% advance payment to
min 30 – 60 days credit from the date of Shipment receipt / acceptance.
Contributed to cost reduction of many NPD projects by identifying existing developed items as suitable
alternative available inputs instead of developing a new item by investing on the tooling’s & fixtures.
Acknowledged for enhancing supplier performance.
