Visual Vocabulary Assignment By  Sam Fath
Ideology A certain orientation that characterizes the thinking of a group or nation. For example Hitler's racial ideology stemmed from what he called "the basic principle of the blood. http://www.blog4history.com/2010/01/oliver-stones-new-documentary/
Individualism A Belief that places the Individual ahead of the group. For example in most North American Countries people are able too make many personal choices that can effect how much money they make and how much influence they have. http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-2773154-businessman-holding-money-bags.php
Collectivism For example all people pay taxes so that public building’s can be funded. A political theory that the people should own the means of production, meaning that we should be dependent on each other. http://trcs.wikispaces.com/Communist+08
Liberalism http://eaves.ca/2008/12/19/concerns-from-beyond-the-west-the-dangers-one-member-one-vote/ Apolitical orientation that favors social progress by reform and by changing laws rather than by revolution For example The Liberal Party of Canada is the oldest federally registered party in Canada.
Self-Interest  Taking advantage of opportunities without regard for the consequences for others For example the Oil company’s charge a large amount of money for there product, as well as contributing too environmental pollution. http://www.phongpo.com/2010/04/30/royal-dutch-shell-posted-a-net-profit-increase-of-57-percent-in-first-quarter/
Competition A business relation in which two parties compete to gain customers http://www.pegworks.com/featured/awesome-or-annoying-mac-vs-apple/ For example the company’s Microsoft and Apple have a competition for the computer market.
Freedom (Political/Economic)  The condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints. Many Immigrants migrated to American and Canada for the Freedom promised too them. http://freedomthirst.com/about/
Rule Of Law A state of order in which nobody is above and everybody follows' the law. 	According too the Rule Of Law nobody is above the Law, including politicians and major celebrities.  http://publicrecordssearchonline.org/find-out-why-a-person-got-sent-to-prison/
Private Property Private Property is the area of which only the owners have complete and legal control. Collective Responsibility Collective responsibility is an idea, in a group is too be held responsible for it’s individual actions. For example if an employee at a job messes up and somebody is injured, the company is held responsible rather than the employee. http://www.toronto.ca/archives/city_hall_viljo_revell.htm
Collective Interest:  Collective Interest is an interest that an entire group shares or has in common. http://www.coolmyspacebackgrounds.org/tag/firefighter-pictures/ For example public service’s such as Firefighters, police and Health care are all part of the collective Interest of Canadian Citizens.
Cooperation When either two or more people join together to complete a task. For example through Cooperation the Allies were able to succeed in World War 2 http://www.soldiersperspective.us/2007/06/26/a-heros-silent-departure/
Economic Equality 	Economic Equality is a state of economic ideals in which all citizen’s are to be of equal standing in the amount of money that they can earn and the financial benefits that they can receive. For example in the Civil Rights movement African-American’s marched for equal rights and employment opportunities. http://prittylittleelf.glogster.com/civil-rights/
Collective Norms 	The behavior that is expected from each person of a group or culture. For example certain etiquette or manners is expected from everybody, even people that you may have never met before. http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/news/weather/hurricane/blog/2009/11/

Belief Something that an individual either believes in or hold’s too be true. http://top-10-list.org/2009/09/11/erroneous-beliefs-about-catholicism/ As example there are many different religious beliefs, even though they may not be backed up by any physical evidence.
Value An idea that changes what people will think of an object or a person For example some people hold wealth as a high value, and will look down on people who are not nearly as wealthy. http://www.aheadwithautism.com/diamondhope.html
Individual Identity Individual Identity is somebody’s personal view on themselves, it is wholly unique to them. For example a Person’s individual identity can be effected by how they dress, what kind of music they listen too and what they believe in. http://www.bargainbabe.com/tag/economy/
Collective Identity Collective Identity is the image that an entire group portrays, with all individuals in the group giving off the same image. For example giving culture’s stereotypes, such as Canadian’s being friendly, American’s being overweight etc… http://www.seeklogo.com/category.html?q=I
