1. Masthead: ERIN CLEMANS
Tag line: THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FEMALE ARTIST OF ALL TIME
Since entering the X-Factor last year and being rejected at boot camp, Erin Clemans has bounced
back with her debut album 'You can't hide' to reach the number one spot in both the UK and
America. At just the age of 16, she is the youngest female artist to have achieved this but her
success doesn't stop there. She has been nominated for 4 Brit awards, 3 MTV awards and even a
Grammy - and there are even rumours of her starring in a new Hollywood blockbuster with
Justin Bieber!
I was so excited to finally meet probably the biggest star in the world at the moment, and felt
extremely lucky to be one of the very few able to interview her. I didn't know what to expect as I
walked into the room but I was very surprised. She was sat down in the corner texting and
tweeing away on her iPhone as you would expect any other teenager to be doing. But that's the
thing, she isn't any other teenager and I couldn't believe that I was being given the opportunity
to meet her.
There's not a day that goes by without seeing the name "Erin Clemans" in the newspapers, on
the radio or on telly and even though she is just 16 years old she has accomplished more than
most people do in their whole lives. Although she admits that all this fame is 'hard to cope with'
she says, 'This is all I have ever wanted but I'm still at school and sometimes I wish I could I could
turn the fame off. I'm sure it will get easier in time but I'm only young and everything has
happened so fast' .
Erin, who made it to bootcamp in last years X-Factor didn't take the rejection very well. She had
just turned 15 when she went on the programme and stunned the judges and viewers with her
audition singing California King Bed written by her favourite artist Rihanna. The audition reached
over 2 million views on youtube within hours and Erin immediately became a hit. 'I couldn't
believe it, I had been thinking about going on X-Factor ever since I can remember and when I
finally plucked up the courage to audition the response I got was amazing!'
She always knew what she wanted and even after everything turned sour Erin pulled through
stronger than ever, she says 'When the judges told me at bootcamp they thought I was too
young and needed more confidence I couldnt believe it, singing is the only thing that I have ever
wanted to do'. Well, I bet the judges are having some regrets about turning away the multi-
millionaire RNB star now after just over a year becoming one of the greatest stars RNB has ever
seen 'I couldn't eat or sleep after being rejected from the X-Factor, people in school used to
torment me about it. It got so bad I didn't want to go anymore and so one day I decided I was
going to prove everybody wrong'.
Despite all this recent success Erin Clemans is probably the most down to earth celebrity I have
ever met. She says 'As much as I love what I'm doing I'll never let the fame get to my head, I'll
always be the same girl with the same friends' and this brought me to wonder, what happened
to all the people at school who used to bully her. When I mentioned this she began to laugh 'As
soon as they heard of me gaining a record deal with Columbia they started to be friendly with
me, don't worry though I'd never forget the way they treated me before the fame'.
2. I just couldn't help but to ask her about the latest rumours of a romance between herself and
Harry Styles after photographs were taken of them two together enjoying a nice day on the
beach. She denied all of the rumours 'I absolutely love Harry, but just as a friend! We met on the
X-Factor and have kept in contact ever since. He rung me when he found out I had signed a
record deal, he was so excited for me'. So, no young love romance there then although Erin did
admit 'I'd love to do a song with Harry, we often sing together and I think it would be amazing'.
As for the Justin Bieber and Erin Clemans movie scenario she says 'There have been a few talks
but nothing has been confirmed. Me and Justin have met briefly along with some directors and
producers, it could happen though. We'll just have to wait and see'. How exciting, the two
youngest yet most successful music artists in the world in a film together. I can only imagine the
response this could recieve, a guaranteed big film in Hollywood.
For any readers who are 'tweeps' you will already know that Erin has stunned the world of
twitter with an amazing 23 million followers - topping Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and even Barrack
Obama! She says 'I made a twitter because I wanted to thank all of my fans. I wouldn't be here
without them and I just can't believe more people are interested in my tweets than the tweets
of Barrack Obama' whilst laughing of course 'I love twitter and I try to reply to my fans as much
as I can but its hard to keep up. I will be releasing my tour dates soon on there so keep
updated!' Anynody who hasn't heard, the world tour 'Dreams can come true' is rumoured to be
starting in 2013 so make sure you all check for the ticket release dates because I can guarantee
that I will be!
