2. Main focus on the CSP project, but interest on heat application:
- Simulation of the system yield
- Study of solar system integration in industrial process (i.e dairy sector)
- Prefeasibility studies at research level (potential assessment)
SARDEGNA RICERCHE ACTIVITIES ON SHIP
Sardegna Ricerche joined the
Insun Project about 6 months ago
3. WP 7: Market Deployment
Simulation study for cheese fabrication
Simulation study of the potential of solar heat
integration in the dairy sector in Sardegna
SARDEGNA RICERCHE’S ACTIVITIES ON INSUN
integration in the dairy sector in Sardegna
Analisys of the sector and ENERGY DATA collection:
• Analisys of the dairy process
• Preparation of questionnaires for energy data collection
(other partners did the simulations)
4. 1) It is very difficult to obtain precise info about heat demand in industries
• While there is a certain awareness about electricity consumption,
it is very difficult to gather information about the heat demand
• Monitoring missing, only data availaible from invoices for fuel purchase.
MAIN OBSERVATIONS about DATA COLLECTION
2) Precise information about the heat demand profiles are needed
to do a correct study of integrationy of solar process heat systems:
An accurate ENERGY AUDIT of the process
(different sub-processes, temperatures, heat demand profiles)
and a preliminary process efficiency improvement
are auspicable
5. 3) The most reliable integration analysis is based on the HOURLY
comparison between the system generation and the process demand
over an entire year.
A MONTHLY analysis largely overestimates the real integration
potential (errors can reach 20%!):
MAIN OBSERVATIONS about DATA COLLECTION
potential (errors can reach 20%!):
Advice: ASK FOR AN HOURLY ANALYSIS WHEN EVALUATING INVESTMENTS
6. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION!
