1. Existing Product Research
Sunderland Culture directly helps young people to fulfil their talents through various events however,
I have decided to specifically mention “Poems of Town” since it relates to specific talents I will be
discussing in my project. Poems of Town is a set of sessions for young people aged 13-19 to help
them learn about writing music and lyrics. It was open for anyone of these ages to join for free over
zoom back in 2020. Since this happened a few years go I do not have many more details about it but I
felt it was important to mention to show that there are places that encourage young people to learn
more about creative skills.
The next thing I’d like to mention is David Lawson Photography. This photography studio was
established back in 1977, a photography studio that has won many awards over the years. The
reason I’m mentioning this is because I know that they take on young volunteers from the college
and help heighten their photography skills and teach them more about the craft. It is extremely
important to have places like this for young creative people.
