SchoolLab- Bringing science communication to schools SchoolLab is an innovative, pilot version of the FameLab science communication competition in schools where participants enhance their knowledge of science and develop their skills in communication, in presentation and in English. SchoolLab allows our network of FameLab alumni and our local science centre partners to connect with and inspire a younger generation through their mentoring of the programme.

Editor's Notes
- The British Council has worked in partnership with the French ministry of education since 2005 to develop the Science in Schools programme in classrooms across France and in French overseas territories. Researchers or university teams from the UK run workshops in schools on a range of science topics allowing pupils to develop their English and their science communication skills simultaneously. Pupils also get a chance to learn more about science careers from young researchers, enginneers and PHD students. Initially in the form of plenary conferences, the programme has evolved and we now propose half day hands-on workshops for all secondary level pupils. This year the programme will also be proposed at primary level.
