INFLUENCE MAPPING: THE PROCESS•Identifies the individuals and groups with thepower to effect a key decision.•Investigates the position and motives of eachplayer and the best channels through which tocommunicate with them•Also known as Stakeholder influence mapping,Power mapping or the Arena of influence.

INFLUENCE MAPPING: THE PROCESS•Be clear over the policy issue or change being analysedand single out those in high positions of power•Differentiate between the decision-makers who have theactual responsibility to make the decisions in a specificpolicy area, and•their opinion-leaders who can influence them or leadtheir opinion, and who are generally more accessible.•Remember, every executive depends on a group ofadvisors without whom they cannot operate.
