Building Managers Training - Training for all Building Managers under the NCBC Area of Responsibility will take place
May 9, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Training Hall, building 446. Attendance is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED as this training is
different from any previous training.
Diversity Committee Pizza Sale Fundraiser - The NCBC Diversity is raising money by sponsoring a pizza sale May 9,
at 11:30 a.m. Pizza selections include: Pepperoni, Sausage, Ham and Cheese for $10 each (cash only). Pizza's must be
preordered and submitted to Lt Choi, 871-2454 no later than May 8. Order the pizza by contacting committee
representatives: BUCN Miller/NMCB 74; BU2 Walker/NMCB 11; RP3 Valle/NMCB 133; CMCS Sawyer/NCG2; LT Choi/CBC;
CE2 Clark/NCTC and EM1 Wade/ECS. Pizzas can be picked up at the CBC Chapel, May 9, 11:30 a.m. - Noon.
Base decals on the way out - Effective May 13, Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Pass and ID will no longer
issue decals. Paper passes will be issued for six month increments. As decals expire, they will be scrapped. More
information on this will be publicized as it is known.
Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month - The Diversity Committee will sponsor an Asian Pacific American
Heritage Program May 16, 10 - 11 a.m. at the NOSC, building 114 drill hall. Program guest speaker is WLOX TV reporter
Trang Pham Bui, and will include singing, dancing and plenty of delicious food. Everyone with authorized access to NCBC
is cordially invited to attend.
Coastline now offering new Health and Fitness Degree - Coastline Community College, a Navy Partnership
Institution in Fountain Valley, Calif., has announced that a new Associate Degree in Health and Fitness is now available to
active duty, spouses and dependents. All course work is available on-line through the Internet. For more information,

ASVAB Test Requirements - The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be administered May 21.
Request chits to take the ASVAB must be submitted to the Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) Educational Services
Officer by May 14. For more information, contact the ESO at 228-871-3248.
NCBC Gulfport site of 2013 Special Olympics volunteers needed - NCBC Gulfport will host the Area 3 Special
Olympics June 8. Games will be held outside of the Fitness Center, near the softball fields, and will begin following a
9 a.m. opening ceremony. An awards ceremony will happen immediately after the games conclude. A minimum of 200
volunteers are needed to set up, register and accompany the athletes, cheer them on and tear down the site. Volunteer
request forms will be available on each Command Quarterdeck and will be collected on May 24. Uniform for military
volunteers: service PT gear; civilians: appropriate athletic attire. Please direct inquiries to: MCC Ryan Wilber, 228- 871-

Time for the annual Bee Wash Fundraiser - The Bee Wash benefiting the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS)
will take place June 5, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the NCBC Parade Field. Now’s the time to nominate your favorite cleaning crew
member. To nominate someone, call 228-871-2610. Throughout May we will keep you up to date on who is leading the
charge for the scrub brushes. All donations benefit Seabees, Sailors and Marines through NMCRS programs.

MWR Couch to 5K - Join the MWR “Couch to 5K” fitness challenge. This 8-week program begins May 13 and finishes
July 12 with a 5K run. Group workouts are Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:30 at the Fitness Center track. If that
won’t work for your schedule, stop by the Fitness Center to get the 8-week workout so you can do it on your own. All
eligible patrons are welcome, including the Civilian Wellness Program participants.

picnic areas. The Grill is open Monday – Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and offers a lunch delivery option too from 11

~ Warm weather is here and the pool is open. Dive in for great exercise or bring the kids out for some fun in the sun.
The pool is open Monday – Friday from 5:30 – 8 a.m. for active duty military only. From 8 a.m. – noon, all other eligible
patrons can enjoy swimming laps and from noon – 7 p.m., the pool is open to the entire family. Water aerobics is also
back by popular demand on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 – 11:45 a.m.

~Looking for a church? The Seabee Memorial Chapel holds services every Sunday that might suit your needs.
Protestant Services include a Gospel Service at 8 a.m. and Divine Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Catholic Services include
Catholic Mass at 9:30 a.m. There is also a Catholic Mass Tuesdays at 11:15 a.m.
~ Seabee Pantry – The Seabee Pantry is always in need of donations to restock the food pantry. Donation drop-off sites
are located at the Navy Exchange, Chapel, Commissary, Fleet and Family Support Center and Armed Forces Retirement
Home. Everyone affiliated with NCBC can use the Seabee Pantry. For more information, contact the chapel.
~ Praise and Worship - The Seabee Memorial Chapel is looking for new members for the Praise and Worship Team for

~ Semi Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament - The Society of American Military Engineers (S.A.M.E.) is holding a
scholarship fund raiser golf tournament May 17, at 1 p.m., at Bay Breeze Golf Course, Keesler Air Force Base. Lunch will
be served at noon and is included in the $75/player fee or $260/4 person team fee. The event features a $40K Shootout

~ Military Mardi Gras Ball - In honor of Military Appreciation Month, NOLA Patriots will be hosting a Mid Year Military

event with a cocktail/social hour beginning at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. (sit down service) and

Building Managers Training - Training for all Building Managers under the NCBC Area of Responsibility will take place May 9, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Training Hall, building 446. Attendance is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED as this training is different from any previous training. Diversity Committee Pizza Sale Fundraiser - The NCBC Diversity is raising money by sponsoring a pizza sale May 9, at 11:30 a.m. Pizza selections include: Pepperoni, Sausage, Ham and Cheese for $10 each (cash only). Pizza's must be preordered and submitted to Lt Choi, 871-2454 no later than May 8. Pizzas can be picked up at the CBC Chapel, May 9, 11:30 a.m. - Noon. Base decals on the way out - Effective May 13, Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Pass and ID will no longer issue decals. Paper passes will be issued for six month increments. As decals expire, they will be scrapped. More information on this will be publicized as it is known. Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month - The Diversity Committee will sponsor an Asian Pacific American Heritage Program May 16, 10 - 11 a.m. at the NOSC, building 114 drill hall. Program guest speaker is WLOX TV reporter Trang Pham Bui, and will include singing, dancing and plenty of delicious food. Everyone with authorized access to NCBC is cordially invited to attend. Coastline now offering new Health and Fitness Degree - Coastline Community College, a Navy Partnership Institution in Fountain Valley, Calif., has announced that a new Associate Degree in Health and Fitness is now available to active duty, spouses and dependents. ASVAB Test Requirements - The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be administered May 21. NCBC Gulfport site of 2013 Special Olympics volunteers needed - NCBC Gulfport will host the Area 3 Special Olympics June 8. Games will be held outside of the Fitness Center, near the softball fields, and will begin following a 9 a.m. opening ceremony. An awards ceremony will happen immediately after the games conclude. A minimum of 200 volunteers are needed to set up, register and accompany the athletes, cheer them on and tear down the site. Volunteer request forms will be available on each Command Quarterdeck and will be collected on May 24. Uniform for military volunteers: service PT gear; civilians: appropriate athletic attire.   • 2. MWR Couch to 5K - Join the MWR “Couch to 5K” fitness challenge. This 8-week program begins May 13 and finishes July 12 with a 5K run. Group workouts are Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:30 at the Fitness Center track. If that won’t work for your schedule, stop by the Fitness Center to get the 8-week workout so you can do it on your own. All eligible patrons are welcome, including the Civilian Wellness Program participants.
