Factual Diary Week 1.pptx

  1. 1. Factual Diary Week 1 I filmed the intro and outro of my project by making a title card, name card and I got my dad to film me next to the John Snow pump and walk way. The title card proved a challenge because I had lost my touch with Adobe Photoshop, but with help from Dave, I was able to make a title card of black and white John Snow next to his water pump and I made the film real look like the black and white picture was inside a film real, I also quickly made a name card (a card for a person's name) by taking a film real from the title card and green-screened it onto Adobe Premiere were I was able to put text from Premiere to fill in the card. I filmed myself next to the monuments devoted to John Snow last because I had more time but I had to make do with the footage I had because it was raining and I forgot my scooter which I left miles away for an hour, but I did get good footage even if the audio wasn’t the best. It went well for the most part because I made a good looking title card, name card and I got good enough footage for my web series project, but it was a bumpy ride to get there. Because I was out of touch editing with Adobe Photoshop, various edits and changes took forever or got undone so I had to get Dave to mostly help me make it. The name card was the biggest issue, I had a little help when making it, but when I was trying to put it into my project was when it really got difficult, it kept on fading to fast or too slow where I couldn’t see the box or the text I put in it because of premiers stupid volume/brightness settings which always liked to slowly un-edit itself. The weather was the first problem that made the filming difficult because rain kept on going over the camera lens and kept on trying to destroy my script book, thanks to the weather, there was a lot of unwanted background noise that muffled my voice and the script was so long it was hard to memorise everything. I’m going to do two things next; I’m going to record all the narrations to get a massive part of my project done and I’m going to film my interview and some flash back scenes next week. Most of the runtime is reliant on the narrations scenes because I decide to make everything visual with silent movie flash back scenes that need my voice, I’ll record myself saying all the massive narration paragraphs in a recording studio with a recorded which will probably be done in time if I get a recorder that allows me to hear my own voice. I won’t have time next week to film all the flashback scenes because of how little time I have with such a busy schedule but I’ll film it in order and get quite a bit done, I spent two weeks trying to get an interview and after all of that long waiting and back and forth emails I was able to get an interview in this very college to interview which I won’t miss and I’ll be able to get everything done because of how short the interview is.
