1. Person Behind the Plague: This is a documentary on historical figures from York that’s set in
the past telling the story of their lives and the people themselves get interviewed because
this documentary goes back in time, this is a good idea because it can be a educational
experience and it can make a good historical backdrop which can make a unique atmosphere
for my web-series piolet, a restriction wood be trying to make everything look like its set in
the past on such a low budget.
2. History of York Chocolate: This would be another documentary that goes to all the locations
around York and tells the history of everything to do with chocolate, this is a good idea
because chocolate is such a huge part of York’s history which could make a long and
interesting webs series because of how much interesting history there is around it, a
restriction would be how much restricted accesses there is to chocolate places because I
wouldn't be allowed to enter a factory or I’d have to pay to go into the York Chocolate
Museum.
3. Romans and Vikings in York: This would be yet another documentary that goes around all the
Roman and Viking presence around York, this is a good idea because York is famous for its
Roman and Viking history and this documentary could teach people about the knowledge
they want to know and it would inspire people to come to York to learn more, a restriction
would be that there’s so much history to cover I couldn’t go over it all in a single piolet.
4. York in the Great Depression: This would be yet another documentary that tells the forgotten
past of York in the Great Depression, this is a good idea because there’s so much untouched
history that would make my show unique and the only one people could watch to learn
about it, a restriction would be how little it’s known about which would make it hard to dig
up any research on it.
5. Religion in York: This would be yet another documentary that tells the history on the
different religions throughout York’s history from the Norse Mythology to the long lasting
Christianity, this is a good idea because this is a part of history people have forgotten about
and making a web-series on this would make my documentary unique and stand out, a
restriction would be the lack of knowledge on it which would make it hard to research.

Final Idea
The chosen idea is Person Behind the Plague because it has the most potential to
make a piolet that fits within the deadline time limit, it has lots of content to make
a full web-series and it can be used to make a unique backdrop to make my web-
series piolet stand out. There are many people who came from York who did
historical changing actions, making a documentary set in the past where I get to
interview them makes an original and interesting topic which would draw the
attention of a massive audience and make it a popular web-series just by it’s short
piolet, and a historical backdrop would add to that uniqueness and audience
attention/popularity.
Because I’d have a lot of ground to cover in a 3-5 minute episode piolet, I would
start the project with an opening narration saying what it’s about and explains the
time travel plot point. The key topics of the project would be the different people
who the documentary talks about and then interview with them or people who
know them. I would conclude the piece by having the documentary talk about the
end of their lives and when the interview with them or the people who know of
them ends.

Pre-Production Ideas
1.Story: The story would be me going back in time and tell the telling
the story and interviewing historical figures from York, I will gather
research and plan to formulate the story.
2.Script: I will make a script on what the narration and characters will
say thanks to the knowledge I got from my research.
3.Audio Design: I will chose or make sound effects and music to fit with
my web-series piolet.
4.Locations: I will plan where everything will take place but choose old
places to show the setting of it being earlier in time.
5.Cast: I will find historians to interview and anyone else available to
play the characters in my piolet.
6.Props: I will buy and find props that look like the setting their
supposed to be set in to look like the past back drop I’ve set it in.
