PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
GRADUATE RESEARCHER UC IRVINE MICROSYSTEMS LAB IRVINE, CA 2014
Conducting cutting edge research and training in the field of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems. Gaining hands-on
experience in design, modeling, fabrication, control electronics, packaging, and experiments.
Leverage expertise of glassblower to assist in finalizing cutting process, to cut 3-tiny vapor cells using propane
hand torch and seal cut by APIAZON wax.
Effectively communicate complex topics during organized lab visits, responsible for explaining the principle of the
NMR gyroscope to undergraduate students.
Implement various techniques to solvecomplex problems such as adding varying quantities of buffer gases
(Nitrogen, Argon, and Xenon) into glass bubbles, and manipulating bellows-sealed valve and read the number from
pressure gauge to control the inlet velocity.
TEAM MEMBER/GRADUATE RESEARCHER, UCI 2013 FORMULA SAE RACE (BODY)TEAM IRVINE, CA 2013-2014
Applied knowledge of part drawings, assembly drawings, and design layouts to construct body model in
SolidWorks CAD Software. Conduct stress-strength and aerodynamic analysis using SolidWorks Flow Simulation.
Co-lead in building of the original model and several prototypes over 3qtrs, responsible for drawing basic sketch
and building a half-scale aluminum model using English wheel, bead machine, electrical shear, etc.
Project Manager responsible for documenting project goals and tracking progress of 1 of 3 segments of the racecar
project to ensure on-time completion of final product. Presented weekly reports to 2 other project teams to ensure
that everyone is aware of each team’s progress.
UNDERGRADUATESTUDENT RESEARCHER, The Fire-fighting Robot WUHAN, HUBEI 2012-2013
Collaborated with 5 engineering students to perform a design and feasibility study of the miniaturization
opportunity in the application of hydraulic technology to a three degrees freedom joint system.
Incorporated design parameters from Hydraulic Machinery Handbook to build supporting hydraulic system for new
servo joint design by applying the pinion and rack mechanism on the pitching joint, used Pro/E to perform simulation.
Conquered the manufacturing limitation by testing the design in an existing hydraulic system, sharing a similar
principle but in a different scale, in the lab.
