Research Interests
My main interest is in the impact of technology on the arts especially in relation
to the rapid creation of distribution networks in the Victorian era. I am especially
interested in notions of a ‘sense of place’ and how this affected by technology.
I hope to develop my current research interests – sequential imagery pre-
cinema and illustration, the development of the railway and the spread of visual
and folk cultures in my future research.
