2.  While producing and making my magazine for
my preliminary task, I had done very little
product research and still managed to
produce a school magazine front cover and a
contents page. I didn’t study or look and
research into the different types of
conventions and I didn't look into any other
magazines for inspirations.
 Overall, it is quite obvious that my main task
is much more better than my preliminary
task as I went into a lot more research.
 My rap magazine that I made during my main
task looks a lot more professional than the
school magazine I have made during my
preliminary task.

3.  I didn’t do any sort of proper research during the
process of my prelim task and therefore didn't
really notice any conventions as I didn't really
know what the different types of conventions
were. I didn't know then that the better and
more effective the conventions were, the better
the magazine itself would be.
 For example, I didn't include
any page numbers in prelim
task or the price of the
magazine. This therefore
made my school magazine look
very unprofessional.

4.  Researching and analysing different types of music
magazines; front covers, contents pages and double page
spreads helped me to now the different types of
conventions needed to make a magazine look better.
 Analysing different types of magazines was really helpful
as I got to look at the way different magazines were
created. Also, understanding why and how they do
different things help me realise what is necessary to help
create a magazine.
 One of the things I found out while analysing different
things is that the Q magazine uses quite light colours to
reflect on the different types of artists they get in to be in
their magazines. If Q was to get a rock band then they use
dark colours whereas if they go someone like Florence and
the machine, the colours they used would be light. His told
me that I should use dark colours for my magazine to show
off the hardness and the roughness of the rap genre.

5.  At the process of doing the research, I realised that
every little thing I wanted to put on to my music
magazine had to have some sort of research, big or
small. This purpose had to some how link in to what
my audience would want to be attracted to my
magazine. I never really thought about this during my
prelim task but took into great consideration when
doing my main task as during the prelim task, I chose
what looked good to me then what the students
would want in a school magazine.
 I then put this into consideration by producing a
small reader profile to show that I have taken my
audience into greater consideration then I did during
the prelim task. By taking all this into consideration,
it made my final piece look so much more better
then it did on my school magazine as I thought alot
more about my audience.

6.  By using many different types of software’s
during the process of my magazine, my
knowledge has become much more better then
before. I had a little idea of Photoshop during
the prelim task which is why I made my
magazine on Photoshop but because I was still a
beginner on it, my work on it wasn't that great
because I didn't really understand how to do
things. Photoshop was my main software used
and because I had a lot more of an idea of how
to use it during my main task, I was a lot better
at editing pictures and adding a lot more effects
to things. Therefore the developing of my
understanding to software's has helped a lot to
improve my knowledge and to make my main
task much more better than my prelim.

7. I think by doing a prelim task it helped a lot
with looking back at what I need to improve
to make my main task stand out and be much
more better.
 In conclusion, I have progressed a lot and his
is shown by my knowledge of software's now
then before and the quality of my main task
compares to my prelim task. Although there
are a few things I could fix in my main task
magazine, I feel as if I have improved a lot
compared to what I have done in my prelim
ask.
