3. During the oldest part of the Pharaonic times, the so-called Old Kingdom, Memphis was the capital
of Egypt. Here the temple to the creator god Ptah was erected, a temple that is said to have been
three times the size of Karnak, and today’s outdoor museum contains artifacts from the old city
and the temple

4. Sakkara was the main necropolis of the city. Here we will see Pharaoh Zoser’s enormous funeral
complex with the Step Pyramid, the first monumental stone building in the history of mankind. We
will also see a mastaba tomb of a noble man showing everyday life in ancient Egypt, without it, a
visit to Sakkara would be incomplete.

5. GIZA PYRAMIDS
The most famous sight in Egypt, the Pyramids at the Giza Plateau, dating back to 2500 B.C. One of
the seven classic wonders of the world, they are the oldest. The visit will take us to the highest
point of the plateau to have a panoramic view of the area, to one of the three pyramids (Cheops,
Kephren or Mycerinos), where those who wish may enter, as well as the valley temple of Kephren
and the mysterious Sphinx.
6. Papyrus was very important to the ancient Egyptians as it helped transform Egyptian society in
many ways and helped us learn their knowledge. Dr Hassan Ragab finally opened his Papyrus
Institute in 1968 in attempt to re-establish this ancient technique and to show the puplic how it
was done.

7. Experience an evening cruising along the Nile River in Cairo while enjoying dinner and traditional
entertainment. Enhance your visit to Egypt on an elegant cruising restaurant while taking in the

8. We will take a bus to Alexandria in the morning, it is about 215 kms north of Cairo at the
Mediterranean Sea, it is the second largest city in Egypt. During almost 1000 years, it was the
capital of Egypt. There are many fascinating stories about the city and its glories. The visit will take
us to Greco-Roman Tombs, to the Roman Theater, as well as the Fort of Qaitbay.

9. THE ROMAN THEATER
The theatre stood with thirteen semi-circular tiers of white marble that was imported from Europe
Its columns area of green marble imported from Asia Minor, and red granite imported from Aswan.
The wings on either side of the stage are decorated with geomatric mosaic paving.
10. QAITBAY
As with most things in Alexandria, the building itself is not what most significant about this
location. Qaitbay built the fortress there to take advantage of an exist foundation on the site-that
of the legendary pharos lighthouse.
11. A visit to the Egyptian Museum is an absolute must on a visit to Cairo. Your guide will take you
through the history of Pharaonic Egypt with the help of the artifacts exhibited, from Narmer to
Akhnaton and Ramses. Of course, the galleries with the treasures of Tutankhamon will be carefully
explained.
EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
12. One of Cairo’s most popular tourist attractions is the Citadel, located on a spur of limestone that
had been detached from its parent Moqattam Hills by quarrying. The citadel is one of the world’s
greatest monuments to medieval warfare, as well as highly visible landmark on Cairo’s eastern
skyline. Particulary when viewed from the backside, it reveals a very medieval character.

13. Completed in 1848, The Ottoman-style Muhammad Ali Mosque or Alabaster Mosque is the most
noticeable in all of Cairo, for more than 150 years it has dominated the skyline. The mosque is
classically Turkish in style, reflecting its Ottoman origins. The cascading domes, slender minarets,
constellation of hanging globe lamps, richy decorated ceiling and spacious interior are more than
amazing. And recalls the great mosques of Istanbul.
ALABASTER MOSQUE (optional)
14. No visit to Cairo is complete without a stop at the Khan El-Khalili bazaar, where you will be
transported back in time to an old Arab Souq. Shop owners calling you to their stalls, the scent of
spices, the hustle and bustle of trade, and the many beautiful objects that can be purchase d will
have you lost among alleys for hours.
