  3. 3. HYPERLOOP:  Hyperloop is a new mode of transport?  Proposed by ELON MUSK American business magnate, investor, and inventor. He is currently the CEO & CTO of spaceX and CEO & chief Product Architect Tesla Motors.  A high speed train that promises travel at twice the speed of a commercial aircraft, transporting passenger from one place to another place.

  7. 7. The capsule :
  8. 8. Tube :  Tube is made of steel. The two will be welded together in a side by side configuration to allow the capsules to travel both directions.  Pylons are placed every 100 ft (30 m) to support the tube.  Solar arrays will be cover the top of the tubes in order to provide power to system.

Contd;  The inner diameter of the tube is optimized to be 2.23 m which is small enough to keep material cost low while large enough to provide some alleviation of choked air flow around the capsule.  The tube cross section area is 42.2 ft^2 giving a capsule/tube area ratio of 36% or a diameter ratio of 60%.

  11. 11. Propulsion:  Linear accelerations are constructed along the length of the tube at various locations to accelerate the capsule.  Stators are located on the capsules via the linear acceleration.

  13. 13. Route:  At present there will a station at Los Angeles and San Francisco along with the way will be possible with splits in the tube.  The majority of the route will follow highway and the tube constructed in the median.

Suspension:  Suspending the capsule within the tube presents a substantial technical challenge due to transonic velocities.  Convectional wheel and axle system become impractical at high speed due to friction losses and dynamic instability.  A viable technical solution is magnetic levitation.  An solution is an air bearing suspension.
  15. 15.  Air bearings offer stability and extremely low drag at feasible cost by exploiting the ambient atmosphere in the tube.  When the gap is high between a ski and the tube walls reduced the flow field in the gap exhibits non linear reaction resulting in large restoring pressures.  The increased pressure pushes the ski away from the wall allowing it to return at basic height.
  16. 16. Advantages ;  Fast (air)  Environmental friendly (rail ,cars)  Inexpensive (air)  Sustainable (use solar energy)  Runs through the median of existing highway  Ready when the passenger is ready to travel.
  17. 17. Problems;  Tube pressurization.  Turning will be critical (with large radius).  Less movable space for passenger.

  20. 20. Conclusion:  As it has number of advantages it will very helpful for transport public as well as goods in a very short time ( at top speed of 1220 kmph) and also in low cost.  It is new concept so there is some future work will be required for development of this project.
