Report on Social Media Competition of Asia Pacific School of Internet Governance 2021
The Asia Pacific School of Internet Governance (APSIG) 2021 was conducted in Goldi Sands Hotel
Negambo, Sri Lanka. With the high alert situation and travel restrictions, we manage to pull the event
securing the first face to face meeting in Asia successfully bringing in together 26 international Fellows
(24 APSIG Fellows and 2 APTLD Fellows), 10 Sri Lankan Fellows, three speakers and five organizers.
The event was organized on the following dates/times:

• Day 2: 14 Dec 2021
• Day 3: 15 Dec 2021

During the APSIG 2021, we organized a social media competition to motivate our fellows in creating
better visibility and engagement of their learning and understanding. This year two cash prizes of
Srilankan rupees 5000 (USD 25 Approximate) were given to two candidates every day on the basis of
their visibility and engagement of best content and best engagement criteria.
The social media engagement was monitored through the hashtag #APSIG2021. This year due to our
participants’ engagement and efforts, the hashtag #APSIG2021 also trended viral in the top 3 list of Sri
Lanka’s social media space.
