A ‘Movielicious May’ with HBO Defined & HBO Hits

Introduction
HBO launched two 24-hour & 100% commercial-free premium
programming subscription channels – HBO Defined and HBO Hits in India
last year. These two premium channels offer Indian audience an unmatched
home movie entertainment experience with a combination of Hollywood and
Bollywood titles. Available in standard-definition and high-definition
formats, both channels are subtitled in English and selected titles have dual
language audio options of either English or Hindi.
Objective
To promote the movie line-up of big premieres such as 'The Great Gatsby',
'The Hangover Part III' and 'Star Trek into Darkness' on HBO Defined and
HBO Hits and create awareness of these two new subscription-based 100%
commercial-free offerings.

OMLogic Approach
Insight: What better way to create awareness & drive subscriptions to the channels than to
indulge the movie freaks present online in an engaging ‘Movielicious’ activity! The campaign
duration was 15 days (11th
May’14 to 25th
May’14).
How did we do it?
 The focus of the campaign was to create one-stop information cum engaging solution. We
decided to put sponsored Facebook posts, promotional YouTube videos, a webpage on the
official website (just like a microsite) and digital ad-banners under a crafted display
advertisement campaign ‘Movielicious May’, styled as per the line-up standards.
 All the channels were targeted to redirect the movie lovers to the campaign’s official website.
 Facebook posts and videos were designed and promoted to engage the fans which in turn
helped in registering enough traffic on website.
 We promoted the posts of popular movies because they attract more engagement. Also these
movies have strong fan-base which eventually leads to more traffic and engagement.

 Sponsored YouTube videos were focused on promoting the movie/channel trailers and
tune-in information.

 Google Ad words were targeted to bring traffic to the campaign website and to increase
engagement on website form.

 The campaign webpage was designed to disseminate and capture all the necessary
information. From channels’ information to Tune-in details, Video trailers to Contest &
much more.
 A brief form on website helped in database generation of the active online movie lovers.
Results

 The 15 day ‘Movielicious May’ campaign on social media generated more than 50K
interactions and achieved 45K new channel lovers
YouTube
 YouTube TrueView advertisement registered more than 75K views

 Google Ads were targeted to aware the users about the two new offerings and drive
subscriptions which register a mark of 26k clicks.
 Display banner ads on external information & entertainment websites were targeted to
promote the movie line-up. It registered more than 12K clicks.
A total number of 610 participants shared their details which helped in database
generation.
