Comfort zone
1. Step out of your comfort zone and do what scares you
by Kent Spoerlein | on May 20, 2013
If you want to ultimately reach for the stars, be rich and successful beyond your wildest dreams…you
better get used to being uncomfortable. That’s what you have to look forward to in the months and
years ahead.
By stepping out of and eventually expanding your comfort zone to a new, larger level, you will grow
as an individual and your success will astonish you beyond your wildest (current) dreams. You have
to stretch, you have to reach, you have to risk failure for real success to come along. You have to
dream “BIG!”
2. The more you cling to “what is comfortable”, the fewer risks you’ll be willing to take, the fewer
opportunities you will uncover and explore, the fewer people you will meet and the fewer strategies
and new ways of doing things you will try. The more comfort becomes your priority, the more
constricted you become through fear of the new, the unfamiliar and the different.
The more you are willing to stretch yourself and expand your comfort zone, The more you are both
willing and able to attract and hold both increased levels of both income and wealth. It should come
as no surprise that the richer you are, the bigger your comfort zone…and it’s likely continuously
expanding to allow for even more future growth.
If your goal in life is to be comfortable, I can guarantee that you will: #1. Never be rich and #2. Never
be happy. Happiness doesn’t come from living a lukewarm, mediocre life always wondering what
“could have been”. Happiness comes from striving and reaching and growing and living to our fullest
potential.
Whenever you feeling of comfort increases, that’s a sign to increase your goals and objectives and
step up your game another notch (or two). Remember, to grow yourself to your fullest potential, you
must constantly be living life on the edge and beyond of your comfort zone.
Most people imagine all kind of tragedies, misfortunes, terrible outcomes and worst-case scenarios.
Your mind will try to trick you into thinking that it’s a dangerous world out there (outside the “zone”)
and that you will be better off by staying safe and “not risking it”. Mark Twain said it best: “I’ve had
thousands of problems in my life, most of which never actually happened.”
Don’t let your mind talk you out of doing what you have to do to go beyond your current comfort zone
and to reach for what’s beyond.
You never know exactly how far you’ll be able to go when you burst out of your comfort zone and
“reach for the stars”.
Just do it
