3. Distance
 The average distance away from earth is 384,403km.
 It can get closer or further away.
 If we were walking to the moon
 It would be like walking from our school to the
beehive in Wellington and back for 1 year and 2 weeks

4. Size
 Its size is 3476km
 It is 400 times smaller than the sun
 For another way to understand, you could put 50
jellybeans inside a jar:
 each jelly-bean represents a moon
 the jar represents the earth.

5. The Moons orbit
 The Moon orbits Earth, once every 27.3 days,
 And always has the same face turned toward us.
The moon orbits around the earth, this is called the
ecliptic plane. The sun stays where it is. The earth moves
around the sun and our moon moves around the earth.

6. Eclipses
 A eclipse is when the earth and moon cross over each
other causing shadows. There are two main eclipses a
solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse.
 a lunar eclipse is when the moon comes between the
earth and the sun.
 A solar eclipse is when the moon passes in front of the
sun.
 A lunar eclipse only occurs at a full moon.
 While watching a solar eclipse you have to wear safety
goggles.

7. Temperature
 The temperature on the moon can be as cold as -153°C
during the night, and can reach up to 107°C in the day.

8. What is the moon made of.
 The surface of the moon is made of mostly basalt
rock.it also contains oxygen, silicon, magnesium, iron,
calcium, and aluminium.
