2. Data sources and integration methods
• In general a multi-source approach
• Different strategies to enhance the access to wealth data and integrate the sources
available:
o centralised exercise to create fused data sets via statistical matching main
option for most countries
o national strategies encouraged
- improving the access of NSIs to data on wealth available at Central Banks
(HFCS)
- record linking with HFCS or administrative registers, when possible
o modules in existing surveys
- In 2017, some voluntary countries (12) collected data on ‘Over-
indebtedness, consumption and wealth’ (OWC) through the EU-SILC survey.
