2. El pasado simple es utilizado para referirse a acciones o situaciones del
pasado. El pasado simple es similar al presente simple, solo que se usa el
auxiliar did para todas las personas para indicar el periodo del tiempo
durante el que se desarrollo y se usa el verbo to be para decir “fue o era”
todo dependiendo del significado de la oración completa.
Se debe aprender la manera correcta de escribir una oración, se trata de
especificar lo que ocurrió en tiempo del pasado. Tenemos lo que son la
afirmativa, la negativa, interrogativa y la interrogativa negativa, cada una
escrita de distintas maneras.

4. El verbo did es usado en las respuestas negativas y en las
interrogaciones, en las afirmativas se usa el termino ed y en las
interrogaciones negativas empleamos el didn’t .Los verbos existen de dos
formas: regulares e irregulares, en los regulares no se usa el did, en su
lugar se emplea la terminación ed y en los irregulares no se cumple esta
condición; es decir no cumplen ninguna regla, la única manera de
conocer su forma en pasado es aprenderla.

El pasado del verbo to be o tiene forma contracta o reducciones para el
afirmativo, en cambio si se pueden usar contracciones para el negativo; los
verbos que se usan aquí son was que es fui o era y el were como estaba o
estuve. En algunas ocasiones esto de was y were resulta confuso.
