PLANT CONTROLLER 2011-CURRENT
Serve as member of Plant Management Leadership Team setting strategic direction for the site.
Manage a plant finance department.
Accountable for all plant financial and performance reporting.
Lead a cross functional bakery team in the preparation to establish budgeted costs of production for a seven line facility
producing 53 SKU’s, encompassing 85 million pounds of production with a total budgeted cost of production in excess of
$137 million.
Communicate to senior leadership team on trends for spending and operation performance versus budget and strategic
forecasts.
Responsible for the monthly financial closing cycle. Prepares monthly financial reports as well as other operational
reports, including key performance indicators. Presents and educates the plant on business performance.
Evaluate capital spending proposals for accurate assumptions and manage changes to fixed asset inventory.
Work with plant personnel to instill a discipline that drives sound internal controls and ensures adherence to corporate
polices.
Set finance department accountabilities and performance standards to be congruent with plant goals. Recruits,
retains, and develops finance staff for effectiveness, efficiency, and succession within the organization.
Acts as primary contact for internal and external audits.
SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST / COST MANAGER 2004-2011
Lead a cross functional bakery team in the preparation of all costing information within the SAP operating system to
establish budgeted costs of production for a seven line facility producing 53 SKU’s, encompassing 79 million pounds of
production with a total budgeted cost of production in excess of $130 million.
Manage the accelerated two day month-end close process, as well as, year-end. Ensuring all journal entries are posted in
accordance to GAAP.
Monitor and facilitate the plants SOX 404 testing and system’s attestation records.
Oversee the Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 account reconciliation process of all pertinent balance sheet accounts monthly.

Assist in Fixed Asset management for the facility for all aspects including acquisition capitalization, inventory reconciliation,
and disposal.
Supervised one Cost Accountant and one Accounting Associate during part of this time.

New process and training implementations:
Lead as Project Symphony PAC (Process Advisory Council) member for all of the America’s in the Production
Execution process.
Integrated new production reporting from Project Pulse to line supervisors with success.
First plant staff in Kellogg North America to perform SAP training at a new facility for cost, navigation, and
production execution.
Participated on the training team at 5 Kellogg sites for the implementation of SAP.
Manage and track cost savings projects with an estimated return of $3.9 million:
Developed and Implemented tracking and forecasting tools to manage over 90 projects
Serve as a single point of contact for cost savings estimates and standards changes
Business partner for operations to determine potential savings areas
COST ACCOUNTANT 2000-2004
Develop and maintain all Bill of Materials and Routings currently in SAP and previously in BPCS.
Accumulate information to develop standard costing for all new products, as well as adjusting standard cost for any current
products.
Prepare weekly and monthly variance reports that show standard changes, alternate routing, and cost savings per work in
process pound or finished good case.
SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Successfully took the challenge of learning Cost Accounting without prior knowledge.
Managed the product costing and variance reporting conversion from Mondo as a private company, to being
owned by Kellogg Company.
Served as primary contact and responsible for all product and process questions during the conversion from the
BPCS/AS400 to the SAP system.
