In October 2019, Seth Phillips and Jerry Media founder Elliot Tebele, took to
the streets of New York City’s SoHo neighborhood for an unique protest.
A photo of this was posted originally just for Tebele’s Instagram account, but
after sharing a photo of second protest, an online following began brewing

A war memorial that is being planned in Meerut is set to feature a heroine who
lost her life in a counter-insurgency operation in Kashmir in 2016. It is also
likely to feature some others who acquitted themselves creditably in the Kargil
war India fought with Pakistan in 1999.
It will be the country’s first of its kind, and it would recognise heroics on the
battlefield, devotion to duty and outstanding contribution to military

For two weeks every October since 2012, paintings by Niklas Elmehed appear
in thumbnails, tweets, and articles in outlets all over the world. Elmehed, a
Sweden based artist is the official portrait artist for the Xs.
He isn't allowed to say exactly how far ahead of time he is told about the
people to be portrayed, but it's not difficult to infer that the work needs to be
done quickly. The paintings are real paintings, not digital renderings and are
released in the same second the Xs are announced, says Elmehed.
