4.  Support information that you use
 Avoid plagiarism
 Enable your teacher to find the information that
you have used
 Demonstrate that you have used a range of
information sources

5.  Write down the following details for each
information source that you use:
 Author
 Year of Publication
 Title
 Edition
 Publisher
 Page numbers
 Web Address

6.  List of resources that you have used
 At the end of your assignment
 Alphabetical order by author’s surname

7.  Need to ensure the quotation is correctly
referenced using the Harvard Referencing
System
 Example
It is argued that “people are often
discriminated against because of their
race, beliefs, gender, religion, sexuality, physi
cal or mental ability or age” (Stretch 2007 p.
176).

8. Longer quotations - separate paragraph, introduced
by a colon, indented from the left margin, no
quotation marks
Example:
Maria Montessori created :
carefully graded self-teaching materials which
stimulated children’s learning through the use of
their senses (Kamen 2000 p.95).

9.  Need to include the following:

 Not always possible to include all the information
