3. Interpretation of the wheel
• Feuerstein uses the image of an eight –spoke wheel to
help identify different yoga systems , approaches and
commonalities.
• The outer rim is shared by and unites with the outer
edge of each spoke which symbolizes the Yama and
Niyamas
• Yama and Niyamas are the moral and ethical principles
which are imbedded in all yoga practices.
• The inner space within the hub represents transcendence
“Existence or experience beyond the normal or physical
level” (Micozzi 2015)
4. Interpretation of the inner hub of the
wheel
• The inner hub of the wheel is were the spokes come
together and re-unite
• This represents Samadhi which means placing or putting
together . This can be translated to entasy better known
as Ecstacy
• The inner space within the hub represents transendence
“ The existence or experience beyond the normal or
physical level” (Micozzi 2015)
