system
Emphasis on objectives: Before planning a control system,
it is important to know the objectives of the organization.
Control system must direct towards the actual deviation
early enough to permit the effective corrective action.
Accuracy: Control system should be reliable and produce
accurate data. An inaccurate control system and result in
management to take in correct action for the desired activity.

3. Timeliness: Control should focus on the
variations in the time to prevent the
affect and delay in the unit performance.
An effective control system should
provide timely information.
Flexibility: A good control system should
be flexible to the changing environment.
It should be adaptable to the new
opportunities
4. Direct Control: Any control system should be
designed to maintain direct contact between the
controller and controlled.
Reasonable : control standards must be
reasonable and attainable. If they are too high
the employees would get de-motivated.
5. Control by Exception: Only significant
deviations should come under the attention of
management. As managers cannot control all
the activities.
Strategic point of control: Some deviations
from the standard may have little impact but
carry great significance. Thus effective control
system should be able to critical, key points of
that time.
