Online course design is rooted in the same solid principles of
face-to-face teaching, but requires additional considerations.
Before you start!
• Collect all the materials you use to teach your course.
• Establish a timeframe and goals.
Start with the same pedagogic principles of overall course
design, a good course design philosophy.
Steps to Creating a Quality Online Course

Steps to Creating a Quality Online Course
3. Establish your learning unit (module) objectives.
To understand the purpose of learning objectives, let’s use
the six questions (Who?, What?, Where?, When?, Why? and
How?).
4. Align your module (activities, assignments, materials/technology
and assessments) to the objectives.
5. Establish clear outcomes to assess learning (Formative (C.A.T.s,
Classroom Assessment Techniques) and summative evaluation,
rubrics)
6. Start building your course.
