Peacemaking And Profitmaking: They Can Coexist!
Forrest (Woody) Mosten, Principal Trainer
carl Michael rossi, Associate Trainer
Overview of the Training
This training is geared for divorce professionals who have expressed a desire to transition their practice from a
litigation model to a more client-centered divorce process. You may have taken training(s) in Collaborative
Practice or Mediation. You may even have 'done some' of either. You might be part of an organization of
others who 'do some' of each.
Despite such efforts, most such professionals find that they are still making the vast majority of their income as
a Warrior in the adversarial system, as opposed to a Peacemaker in the Collaborative or Mediation model. This
has caused many professionals who spent time and money to be trained and who really would prefer to be
Peacemakers to believe that it simply is not possible to do so.
This disconnect between your desire to transition your practice from one steeped in the adversarial model to one
based on productive Peacekeeping and your concern about economic return from such a transition is a tension
that has led to this training. We have designed this course to address this tension experienced by practitioners.
Our intention in offering this class is to provide you ideas, resources, and to demonstrate proven models of new
ways of practice from which you can gain personal satisfaction and increased income from your peacemaking
work.
We teach this class from differing backgrounds, length of professional experience, and life perspectives.
Woody uses his 40 years as an innovative law and mediation practitioner and trainer to go beyond the
successful Master Class that he taught with Pauline Tesler in 2011-2012. Also, as the world recongized, "Father
of Unbundling, he has developed models of unbundling that improve access to professionals and accelerate
practice building.
carl Michael, an early Board Member of the IACP, a founding Board Member of CLII, Founder & Executive
Director of Collaborative Practice Professionals of Illinois, Co-Publisher of The World of Collaborative
Practice online magazine, and moderator of the Yahoo Collaborative Group Listserve, shares lessons learned
from his own transitioning into a full time peacemaking practice as well as his experiences training and
consulting across the U.S.
We enjoy training together and have every confidence that this training will accelerate the timeframe in which
you can transition your practice from litigation to Peacemaking and, at the same time, to replace or exceed the
revenue that you currently earn.
This training is fast paced and interactive and concentrated. We look forward to working with you as you move
into your Peacemaking practice!
