3. Semi intensive system Semi intensive fish culture system is more prevalent and
involves rather small ponds(0.5 to 1 hectare in an area) with
higher stocking density (10000 to 15000 fish/ha).
 Basically in this system care is taken to develop naturals
foods by fertilization with/without supplemental feeding.
 However the major food source is natural food
 Yield is moderate (3 to 10 ton/ha) and survival rate is high.

4. Why Semi intensive culture system
is preferred
 .Low cost more production
 Comparatively cleaner system as compared with
extensive culture system
 More fishes can be reared in natural ponds

9. How fine feed stuff should be
 Adopt the size of feed stuff particles to the mouth size
of the fish to reduce feed loss and maximize feed
utilization

10. Stocking density of fish in semi
intensive culture
 The stocking density of fish ponds describes the
number of fish that are stocked initially per unit area.
 It is one of the most important factors in determining
the production of fish farm.
 At low levels ,increased the stocking density will
increase yeild.
