27. Creative Cloud Myths Debunked
Below are a few of the most common misperceptions that we hear about Adobe Creative Cloud as well
as the truths
• Myth #1: Desktop apps run in the cloud in my browser—not on my desktop
False. Your creative desktop apps like Photoshop, InDesign are installed and run directly on your
computer
• Myth #2: I have to be constantly connected to use my apps
False. Your creative desktop apps are installed and run directly on your computer. You only need to
be online to install your software
• Myth #3: I’ll lose all my files if I leave Creative Cloud
False. You will continue to have access to the files that you save on your computer
• Myth #4: Creative Cloud means that files need to be hosted versus stored locally
False. Your creative files stay on your computer unless you choose to sync them to the
Creative Cloud

Since we launched Creative Cloud in the spring of 2012, it’s evolved pretty dramatically from an affordable way to get Adobe’s leading creative desktop apps as a subscription, to a rich service that drives deep connections between the creative industry’s most complete family of mobile apps, and powerful editions of our CC desktop tools -- enabling our software to work seamlessly, as one, across desktop and mobile devices.
Creative Cloud includes:
The worlds creative apps, reimagined to work across desktop and mobile
Your creative assets, everywhere you need them
A growing, vibrant, world-class creative marketplace
Deep connections to the creative community with Behance, so you can share your work, get inspired, and get noticed, plus access to thousands of tutorials to help you get started on any new project or learning any new creative skill.
What you’ll see with these next updates to Creative Cloud is that Adobe is really continuing to pay off our vision for a frictionless creative process across desktop apps, mobile apps and services.
At the heart of Creative Cloud is Adobe CreativeSync, a signature technology that intelligently syncs files, fonts, photos, design assets, settings, metadata, Adobe Stock content and more. With CreativeSync, assets are instantly available, in the right format, wherever designers need them -- across desktop, web and mobile apps. Available exclusively in Creative Cloud, CreativeSync means work can be kicked-off in any connected Creative Cloud mobile app or CC desktop tool; picked up again later in another, with changes consolidated and saved; and finished in the designer’s favorite CC desktop software.
**************
Note to presenters if you are asked what this means for CC Libraries or Creative Profile:
Creative Cloud Libraries is a feature in Creative Cloud apps, powered by Creative Sync, which gives you easy in-app access to your assets.
Your profile is the personal dashboard you can access with your Adobe ID that displays your apps, assets and account info in one place.
The 2015 release of Creative Cloud features:
New Adobe magic and huge performance improvements across the entire family of 15 CC desktop apps, which have been upgraded to be the 2015 release. The world’s best creative apps have been reimagined to work across desktop and mobile, so you can start a project in a mobile app and finish it on your desktop to make the act of creating more efficient and more flexible.
Get instant access to your photos, brushes, sketches, colors, fonts, design assets and more within your CC apps thanks to CreativeSync, which intelligently syncs your assets so you can start your work in one place and finish it in another. We’ll talk more about CreativeSync in few moments. And both Premiere Pro and After Effects will now have Creative Cloud Libraries, giving you in-app access to all of your assets in our flagship video apps.
And introducing Adobe Stock. You can jump-start your projects with 40 million images from Adobe Stock, accessible from right within within CC desktop apps. And when you add Stock to your Creative Cloud membership, you’ll get the industry’s best value at 40% off. We’ll talk more about Adobe Stock and our pricing options in a few moments.
Here are a few highlights of what’s new in our 2015 desktop apps:

Illustrator CC is now up to ten times faster than CS6, thanks to a new Mercury Performance System boost. Designers using Illustrator CC can also create beautiful data-driven visualizations including custom charts, graphics and info-graphics using a preview of a simplified Chart interface.
InDesign gets its own Mercury Performance System boost with zooming, scrolling, and paging up and down complex documents now twice as fast, and the ability to effortlessly publish and distribute documents online with Publish Online (Preview).
Assets in Creative Cloud Libraries can now be linked so that when a change is made to an asset, you and your team members have the option of updating it across any Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign projects wherever it’s used.
[CLICK]
Photoshop CC now includes Artboards, to create multiple layouts in different sizes in a single document, and a preview of a new technology called Photoshop Design Space (Preview), which offers a designated mode with new interactions and design-focused features that reduce clicks, mouse movements and clutter for designers working on mobile apps and websites.
New responsive web design capabilities in Dreamweaver CC let designers quickly lay out and build production-ready sites that adapt to any screen size, and Adobe Muse now includes instant access to premium fonts from Typekit.
[CLICK]
Premiere Pro CC leaps further ahead of the competition, with the Lumetri Color panel for powerful color corrections using intuitive sliders and other simple controls; and Morph Cut, which makes it easier to deliver polished interview content by smoothing out jump cuts, in talking-head shots, to create a cohesive, polished sequence.
For After Effects CC, Uninterrupted Preview allows artists to adjust a composition’s properties and even resize panels without impacting playback. Also, the groundbreaking Adobe Character Animator brings 2D figures to life using a webcam to track facial movements, record dialog and apply movements in real time onto a pre-configured character.
And both Premiere Pro and After Effects will now have Creative Cloud Libraries, giving you in-app access to all of your assets in our flagship video apps.

Lightroom CC is shipping the stunning Dehaze feature, first sneaked at Adobe MAX in October 2014. This breakthrough capability eliminates fog and haze from photos, including underwater shots, for startlingly clear images. This feature is also available in the update to Photoshop thanks to Camera Raw 9.1 enhancements.
You can also add monochromatic or color noise to your Blur Gallery effects in Photoshop to better match your original image — and to reduce banding when viewing and printing.
The Healing Brush, Spot Healing Brush and Patch tools have been turbocharged with Mercury Graphics Engine enhancements. See your Healing Brush results in real time, and get Spot Healing Brush and Patch Tool results that are up to 120X faster than they were in CS6.
And you can combine photos with different exposures into a single HDR image in Lightroom, which is a feature that we recently shipped with the CC Photography Plan update in April.
Last year when we introduced our new CC mobile apps, we began a journey down a path to make our creative apps work as one, across desktop and mobile. For example, Photoshop CC is part of a family of mobile apps that includes apps to capture inspiration on your phone and bring that into your other apps as a production-quality asset (like Brush, Shape and Color), as well as apps that extend the power of Photoshop to devices like Photoshop Mix, Photoshop Sketch, and the new Comp CC for starting a layout on your iPad and finishing it on the desktop.
We’re taking that a step further in June by bringing more mobile capabilities to video, with our first capture app for video, called Adobe Hue CC (formerly Project Candy). Hue provides an easy way to capture and share production-quality lighting and color schemes by using an iPhone camera and then applying those looks on a Premiere Pro or After Effects project via Creative Cloud Libraries, which are now in both Premiere Pro and After Effects.
We’re also expanding our mobile workflows to Android with Shape, Color, Brush, and Photoshop Mix coming to Android on June 16.
These 2 big mobile updates bring powerful, connected mobile-to-desktop workflows to all creatives, regardless of the type of content they create or the mobile platform they choose.
So what makes Adobe Stock unique?
First, there’s high-impact creative content for print, web or mobile app projects. Adobe Stock is an extensive marketplace of 40 million photos, illustrations and graphics, covering virtually every subject. Whether it’s finding a standout image of a Scottish castle for a tourist brochure; a beach volleyball game for a sports web site; or an illustration of a restaurant menu for a mobile app, Adobe Stock has a huge selection of high-impact possibilities. And we’ll make it easy for our customers to contribute to Adobe Stock, so the service will quickly grow with the world’s highest-quality content from the world’s best creators – our customers. Adobe also plans to add new stock content categories in the coming months, leveraging Adobe customers’ unrivalled reach and experience across creative fields.
Next, there’s the deep integration with the desktop apps that creatives rely on. Designers can launch Adobe Stock directly within CC desktop software, add watermarked images to Creative Cloud Libraries and then access and work with images across multiple desktop tools such as Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC and InDesign CC. This makes it incredibly simple to work with watermarked images in their comps.
Then, when creatives are ready to license the image for finished work, they can do it directly within the desktop software they are working in. Innovative workflows also accelerate the creative process: designers can edit a watermarked image in an application like Photoshop CC and, when licensed, these edits are magically applied to the purchased full-resolution image. This capability is powered by CreativeSync, which we just discussed a few moments ago.
A beautiful standalone web site, stock.adobe.com, enables anyone – including designers and marketers who are not yet Creative Cloud members – to purchase, download or sell stock images.
A final benefit of Adobe Stock is that we will offer simple, high-value pricing plans that take the pain and complexity out of purchasing stock content.
1. Customers can buy a bundle of CCT complete + stock for 79.98 (for existing CS3 customers), or 99.98 for new customers
2. Existing CCT customers can add on a subscription of stock to their CCT complete or single app plan. There are two levels of subscriptions: 10 images per month for $29.99/month, and for power users, we will offer a package of 750 images per month for $199.99/month. I should point out here that this provides you w/ a GREAT opp to call existing CCT customers and grow your accounts. As I mentioned before, we know that Adobe customers are the greatest consumers of and contributors to stock – so what a great reason to pick up the phone (awesome land an expand play here).
3. If customers do want to buy as they go, or are interested in buying stock ONLY (w/o a CCT membership), they can do so on stock.adobe.com, but remind them that a 10-seat stock subscription will be 40% higher if they buy stock without Creative Cloud. Customers will get the best value in the industry when they buy Adobe Stock w/ a CCT membership.
The last thing to point out about Adobe Stock, which is something that’s unique to the stock image industry, is that anyone who signs up for a10-images-per-month plan can carry over unused images from month to month, for up to a year. With typical stock image month-to-month subscription plans, creatives have to download and use all the images every month or lose them.
Adobe Stock will be available on June 16th in 36 countries and 13 languages.
