3. Ristretto
Ristretto is a very short shot of espresso coffee.The
resultant shot could be described as bolder, fuller, with
more body and less bitterness.There’s less caffeine
compared to regular espresso but the same amount of
coffee oils and flavour. It’s short and sweet - and you can
prepare it just like a regular espresso. One shot of espresso
is 8grams of coffee in 30 ml of water, while one shot of
ristretto is normally 8grams of coffee in 15ml of water,
making ristretto very strong.

4. Doppio
Doppio in espresso is a double shot,
extracted using a double coffee filter
in the portafilter. a double espresso
shot is typically around 60 ml (2 fl oz),
while a double ristretto is typically
25-30 ml (~1 fl oz).

The classic cocktail is made of hot coffee,
Irish whiskey, and sugar (some recipes

An affogato is a espresso-based beverage. It
usually takes the form of a scoop of vanilla
gelato or ice cream topped with a shot of
hot espresso. Some variations also include a
shot of Amaretto or other liqueur. “Affogato
al cafe” means “drowned in coffee”

A classic in the cafés of Budapest and Vienna,
the viennois is made of espresso, hot milk, and
whipped cream. In Australia a similar drink

Before the frappuccino, there was the Greek
frappé: foam-covered iced coffee. Frappé coffee
(also Greek frappé or Café frappé) is a Greek
foam-covered iced coffee drink made from
instant coffee (generally, spray-dried).
Accidentally invented in 1957 in the city of
Thessaloniki, it is now the most popular coffee
among Greek youth and foreign tourists.

11. Vietnamese iced coffee
Vietnamese iced coffee, also known as Ca phe
da or cafe da is a traditional Vietnamese coffee
recipe. At its simplest, it is made with coarsely
ground Vietnamese-grown dark roast coffee
individually brewed with a small metal French
drip filter into a cup containing about a
quarter to a half as much sweetened
condensed milk, stirred and poured over ice.

Café con hielo translates directly to
“coffee with ice” but this drink is straight
up iced espresso. So it could also be
referred to as coffee on the rocks. It is a
great alternative to frappé or any other
Iced coffee drink.
13. Yuanyang
Yuanyang or Coffee with tea is a popular
beverage in Hong Kong, made of a mixture of
three parts of coffee and seven parts of Hong
Kong-style milk tea.The name yuanyang refers
to Mandarin ducks.The male and female look
very different — like the coffee and milk tea
used to make the drink — but still represent
conjugal love in Chinese culture.

14. Red eye
A close relative of the Americano, the red eye is espresso
mixed with brewed coffee. A red eye is a fortified coffee
drink in which espresso is combined with normal drip
brew coffee. It is known by various names, some of which
refer to different variants. Drip coffee to which espresso is
added may be called a Red Eye (1), Black Eye (2), Dead Eye
(3), depending on the number of espresso shots added.

16. Cortado
A cortado is an espresso cut with a small
amount of warm milk.The word cortado is
the past participle of the Spanish verb
cortar (to cut). In Spanish-speaking
countries, a cortado is similar to the Italian
caffè macchiato, where a small amount of
warm milk is added to "cut" the espresso.

Café Cubano (Cuban coffee, Cuban
espresso, cafecito, Cuban pull, Cuban shot)
is a type of espresso which originated in
Cuba after espresso machines were first
imported there from Italy. Specifically, it
refers to an espresso shot which is
sweetened with demerara sugar as it is
being brewed

in the 1980s. It is prepared by pouring

Espresso Martini is just one of many coffee-flavored
Martini recipes being made today. It is a great party
drink as it uses chilled espresso that gives it a
caffeinated kick which you just can't duplicate with
coffee liqueurs alone. It is usually made of 1 1/2 ounces
vodka, 3/4 ounce Kahlua coffee liqueur, 1/4 ounce
white creme de cacao and 1 ounce cold espresso
