TIPS FOR TIPPING
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
Wherever you travel you might want to know if you are in a country where tipping is
customary and required. You might wonder if it’s appreciated but not at all expected.
Sometimes you might be surpriesed as it seam is is virtually unheard-of? The truth is,
tipping rules vary by country, by region, and by scenario. A modest rounding up of the
check may be fine in some places and insufficient in others. A few small bills left on a night
table might be gladly picked up by housecleaning staff in one hotel and scrupulously
shunned elsewhere. Such uncertainties can throw an uneasy shadow over even the most
exhilarating jaunt in a new land. To ease up your worries we’ve selected some tipping tips
from around the globe. The destinations chosen do not represent all the places, but at least
give you a hint on how to tip traveling the globe.
GENERAL TIPS FOR TIPPING
Generally tipping below 15% is appropriate, when, and
only when, the server has been outwardly rude and
obviously failed in their position.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
Generally a base 15% says ‘you did your job’. If the server has performed
beyond your standards, then 20% says ‘Thanks, that was fun’ and 25% or
above says ‘That recommendation was great! And thanks for laughing at my
not so funny joke’

GENERAL TIPS FOR TIPPING
Dubai's government mandates adding a 10 percent service charge
to all bills at hotels, restaurants, and bars but feel free to top it off
with a few dirhams

DUBAI TIPS FOR TIPPING
If restaurant service is really good, leave a few more dollars. In
hotels, if you really want to express appreciation it’s best to give a
small gift from the United States (a T-shirt or hat bearing the name
of an American city or sports team).
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
IRANIAN TIPS FOR TIPPING
In Morrocan restaurants ten percent is generous, but check to make
sure the service isn't included in the bill. In Morocco tipping is best
done quietly, perhaps off to the side. It’s best to do the furtive
handshake-with-cash-in-palm move, accompanied by a smile and a
thank-you.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
MORROCANTIPSFORTIPPING
In Brazil 10 percent is routinely included in the bill for "servico" but if you
want to top that remember that Brazilians are discreet and subtle when it
comes to business transactions. It's helpful when tipping someone not
to make a great display. You might verbally thank them, shake their
hand, and express your appreciation while handing the bills folded.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
BRAZILIAN TIPS FOR TIPPING
In Canada, as in the United States, the gratuity isn't included, so you
can tip the standard 15 to 20 percent, depending on the service.
The US Dollars are accepted as long as you use paper money, not
U.S. coins.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
CANADIANTIPSFORTIPPING
A 10 percent tip is included in the bill; feel free to put down a few
more bills amounting to another 5 percent. Nicer restaurants may
also charge a 5 to 7 percent cubierto, basically a sit-down charge.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
CHILEAN TIPS FOR TIPPING
Don't get embarrassed when you’ll experience an unusually effusive
thanks for a tip here. Especially that a tip of about $1 per diner for
the waiter is just in order and enough.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
CAMBODIANTIPSFORTIPPING
The law of the land, and the rule at many hotels nad restaurants, is
no tipping whatsoever.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
CHINESE TIPS FOR TIPPING
A 10 percent tip is included. The locals will also top it with any
loose change thrown down. You should do the same, up to maybe
15 percent total.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
INDONESIANTIPSFORTIPPING
Though it's largely a non-tipping society, providers of certain
services may appreciate a tip, but only in yen (estimate a little more
than 100 yen to the dollar).
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
JAPANESE TIPS FOR TIPPING
There's really no tipping culture in South Korea. Of course, if you
really love the service and you want to do something extra, you
might tip, but it’s not expected of you.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
KOREAN TIPS FOR TIPPING
A common feature in Thailand is the ubiquitous bathroom
attendant. Some of them might even throw a towel over a man's
shoulders while he's at the urinal. Fifty cents, or about 20 baht,
should do it there.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
THAI TIPS FOR TIPPING
There's usually a service charge, but consider tipping on top of it–
up to 15 percent total. When it comes to good service, Czechs get
it as they regularly serve the British market. English is widely
spoken there, and they'll find a way to make things special for you.
So tip ahead.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
CZECH TIPS FOR TIPPING
The words service compris on your bill mean no tip is required, but
most locals leave up to 10 percent in coins. Tipping at bars is not
expected.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
FRENCH TIPS FOR TIPPING
Since the introduction of the euro, tipping expectations have
become considerably inflated, because people tend to round up
to the next euro. So just round up, plus a little more for excellent
service—say, to the fives (25 euros for a 22-euro meal).
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
GREEK TIPS FOR TIPPING
At Russian restaurants give 10 percent in cash directly to the
waiter; leave it on the table and management might pocket it.
have fun, tip and never forget to www.share.travel
RUSSIAN TIPS FOR TIPPING
Tipping here is fairly formalized; either the service is included in
the bill, or tipping isn't done.

Hello Fellow Traveller,
Travel World Passport has been created by people hungry to discover the world. We have formed a web framework to save
travel memories. It was born out of continuous search for inspiration. While we appreciate the satisfaction exploration brings,
we have a strong conviction that the when looking for true inspiration, we often found it difficult information available online
was scattered and often inaccessible.
The most valuable and remarkable travel inspiration and information is available on travel blogs, but for those who do not
follow them on a regular basis it is hard to keep track of. Our mission is now to gather the most valuable, relevant and useful
travel content in one place, where it is indexed and easily searchable.
So for those, who are not satisfied with the way travel content is being presented online our product is a web framework to
save and digest travel information around the stories of real travelers. It provides the necessary inspiration and contains
information to start your journey. Our belief is that travel is about the feeling and the experiences, not the place. Those
thoughts and believes are reflected in all the aspects of our work. And that feeling inspires us to be free, travel and do great
things. We hope it will inspire you, too.

We have formed a web framework to save travel memories. It was born out of continuous search for inspiration. While we appreciate the satisfaction exploration brings, we have a strong conviction that the when looking for true inspiration, we often found it difficult information available online was scattered and often inaccessible. The most valuable and remarkable travel inspiration and information is available on travel blogs, but for those who do not follow them on a regular basis it is hard to keep track of. Our mission is now to gather the most valuable, relevant and useful travel content in one place, where it is indexed and easily searchable. So for those, who are not satisfied with the way travel content is being presented online our product is a web framework to save and digest travel information around the stories of real travelers. It provides the necessary inspiration and contains information to start your journey. Our belief is that travel is about the feeling and the experiences, not the place. Those thoughts and believes are reflected in all the aspects of our work. And that feeling inspires us to be free, travel and do great things. We hope it will inspire you, too.
