The European Academy of Paediatrics
(EAP) is the paediatric section of the
UEMS – European Union Medical
Specialists - and is the official political
voice of children, families and
paediatricians throughout Europe.
With delegates from more than 40
countries, EAP represents national
paediatric societies and professional
organisations of the European Economic
Area countries, as well as the National
Associations of Medical Specialists of
the Associated European members and
observer countries.
EAP promotes the health and well-
being of children and those working
with children. Through its activities, EAP
aims to improve standards in paediatric
training, service, and research.
Italsodevelopsbestpracticemodelsand
skills for all child health professionals, to
create better integrated care in hospital
and community settings.
At the same time, EAP promotes the
harmonisation of paediatric training
programs acros Europe (through the
European Board of Paediatrics - EBP).
Some of EAP’s focus topics include:
• vaccination and vaccine confidence;
• migrant and refugee health;
• antimicrobial resistance and
stewardship;
• chronic diseases;
• training opportunities for young
paediatricians.
