Sheldon Grizzle, Director of GIGTANK and Founder of The Company Lab in Chattanooga, TN. I’m an entrepreneur helping fellow entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground.
170K city, 500K metro- 2 hours to Atlanta, Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham, Huntsville and Oak Ridge
Chattanooga’s fiber-to-the-home network was completed in 2010 and is used as the communications backbone for Chattanooga ’s Smarter electric Grid which is already reducing power outage duration by an average of 60% throughout the community, among many other benefits.
Some numbers about the network
At the end of the day, all those numbers mean that every home and business throughout EPB’s service area has access to 1 GIG
Chattanoogans are known for our collaborative spirit, and today we ’re collaborating to maximize the value of the next-generation connectivity that our Gigabit fiber network makes possible. Startup accelerators, local universities and foundations, City and County agencies, and local resources and others come together to help smart people find out what is possible when bandwidth is no longer a barrier.
GIGTANK is one example of what our community has done when we all work together
To carry on the innovation, we need more collaborators. We want to work with others from around the nation and around the world to build tomorrow’s apps, to test them, to break them and fix them, and to demonstrate their power. To improve your communities and ours and to improve your economy and ours.
