Windows 3.0 was released in May 1990

Windows 95 was released in August 1995

interface, and also used preemptive multitasking.
Windows 95 was designed to replace not only
Windows 3.1, but also Windows for Workgroups,
and MS-DOS. It was also the first Windows
operating system to use Plug and Play capabilities.

Windows 98 was released in June 1998
Windows 98 was substantially criticized for its
slowness and for its unreliability compared with
Windows 95, but many of its basic problems were
later rectified with the release of Windows 98

Windows 2000 was released in February 2000 which
updated the core fromWindows 98

Windows ME (Millennium Edition) was released in
September 2000
Windows ME updated the core fromWindows 98
but adopted some aspects ofWindows 2000 and
removed the "boot in DOS mode" option
It also added a new feature called System Restore,
allowing the user to set the computer's settings
back to an earlier date.

26. Windows XP
Windows XP was released in October 2001
Windows XP was a version built on the Windows
NT kernel that also retained the consumer-
oriented usability of Windows 95 and its
successors. This new version was widely praised
in computer magazines. It shipped in two distinct
editions, "Home" and "Professional“.

Windows Vista for volume licensing was released
in November 2006, while for retails it was released
in January 2007

operating system's graphical user interface and

Microsoft products.
38. Microsoft Office is an office suite of interrelated
desktop applications, servers and services for the
