2. Cocomo Cost Drivers
• There are four types of cost drivers :
• Product
• Computer
• Personnel
• Project
3. Personnel Attributes
• Here we discuss only cost drivers personnel attributes :
• ACAP (Analyst Capability)
• AEXP (Application Experience)
• PCAP (Programmer Capability)
• VEXP (Virtual Machine(e.g operating system)
• LEXP (Programming language experience)

5. ACAP
• Analysts participate in the development and validation of
requirements and preliminary design specifications. They
consult on detailed design and code activities. They are
heavily involved in integration and testing. The major
attributes to be considered are ability, efficiency,
thoroughness, and the ability to communicate and
cooperate.
6. AEXP
• This rating is dependent on the level of applications
experience of the project team developing the software
system or subsystem. The ratings are defined in terms of
the project team's equivalent level of experience with this
type of application.
7. PCAP
• Programmer Capability (PCAP) is a measure of the
capability of the programmers as a team rather than as
individuals. This driver looks at how well the team
communicates with each other, how efficient the team has
been at getting work done, and so on.
Major factors are ability, efficiency and thoroughness, and
the ability to communicate and cooperate.
8. VEXP
• This represents the experience the project team with the
complex of hardware and software that the software
product calls upon to accomplish its tasks, e.g. computer,
operating system, and/or database management system.
9. LEXP
• This is a measure of the level of programming language
and software tool experience of the project team
developing the software system or subsystem.
