!
- Starting a green field project of tooth paste, cosmetics and foods manufacturing and packaging industry in
Nigeria
- A project completed in ETHIOPIA to establish a cosmetics and tooth paste plant
− Installation, commissioning and start-up of complete tooth paste plant , from the stage of negotiation of
the machinery to the final output of the plant,
− Successful installation, commissioning and startup of cream/lotion plant in a record time of 3 months in
Tanzania,
− Certificate of commendation from CEO of NORDEN machinery limited, (the largest and the best ma-
chine manufacturer of tube filling and packing machine in the world) for getting the best output at the
lowest rejection level, at Kalamar, Sweden.
− Several commendation letters from the management of Chemi and Cotex Ind. ltd. (CCIL) for surpassing
performance targets before the due date,
− Major and pivotal role in CCIL to make it the largest FMCG industry in east Africa from no. 5 position
since I joined 8 years ago,
− Led the production team to transform CCIL into the largest toothpaste manufacturer in East Africa, with
80% of market share in TANZANIA, and an exporter of its product into other East African countries and
South Africa. The only country in the world where a local player is surpassing the giants like Colgate and
Unilever with such a huge margin.
− On my watch, CCIL grew its production from 100 MT of toothpaste to 450 MT in eight years.
− On my watch, CCIL’s products won East Africa SUPERBRAND award for SIX consecutive years since
2007.
− Developed Indigenous Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to adhere to the local government regulations, re-
duce company cost and complying operational health and environmental requirements of the community.
− Undertook scores of KAIZENS to improve man and machine efficiency.
− On my watch, the first in India to launch CORE and SHEATH format in tooth paste, for Unilever India
Limited,
− Led the production team to produce 20T of shampoo/day from 8T/day, at Mul group of companies,
Daman, India,

East Africa’s No.1FMCG Company. No. 1 toothpaste, cosmetics and food products manufacturing industry with
workforce of 1500, a total product rage of 200 and diverse interest in manufacturing of plastic and metal products
also
− Had overall responsibility for developing and implementing the plant’s annual budget as well as carrying out
the annual strategic plans of the facility,
− Planned and directed production and maintenance activities and priorities for products in keeping with effec-
tive operations and cost factors,
− Coordinated production activities along with procurement, maintenance, production planning, safety and
quality control activities to obtain optimal use of employee and equipment resources,
− Reviewed and analysed production to determine causes on non-conformity with production specifications
and operating or production problems,
− Developed and implemented methods and procedures to eliminate operation problems and improve product
quality,
− Modified machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products,
− Had responsibility for communicating changes in schedules, production or procedure to all shifts and em-
ployees,
− Oversight for resolving interpersonal issues & working towards a harmonious work environment, perfor-
mance management and development of all direct reports,
− Ensured all the preventive maintenance schedule are done correctly
− Provided Engineering leadership and direction on manufacturing platforms and processes and projects,
− Developed equipment and process strategy and recommended platforms,
− Developed and identified new platforms and equipment for increased productivity and cost reduction,
− Owned Cleaning In Place (CIP) program management and supports CIP implementation: Productivity im-
provement, yield maximisation, material substitutions,
− Preparation of CAPEX and CAPEX optimisation.

− Manpower Management and handling the Labour contractor,
− Inventory Planning and cost control,
− Health Safety and Environment (HSE)
− Continuous monitoring for material flow, production, inspection & inventory to avoid any bottleneck situa-
tion,
− Maintaining the minimum inventory of Work In Progress (WIP) components & other materials like rework
components & scrap for proper utilisation of floor space,
− Quality and system documentations,
− Active participation during regulatory audits and potential customer audits,
− Planning, preparation and evaluate daily/monthly/quarterly/yearly reports,
− Daily rejection & rework analysis through Pareto diagram & take corrective action
− Conducting test runs on production equipment by providing appropriate operating parameters and ensuring
that the test run is implemented smoothly to meet the required objective.
− Spearhead value analysis of production cost and manpower utilisation.
− Conceptualise and implement strict measures in operating procedures to optimise resources and capacity util-
isation.
− Optimise man and machine utilisation to achieve pre-set production targets.
− Evaluate work centre outputs and down time analysis of critical machines with in quality parameters.

Quality / Safety Assurance
➢ Ensure compliance of various quality measures & norms during manufacturing
➢ Co-ordinate in preparation, checking, maintaining and updating documents as per norms.
➢ Involved in preparation and facing of internal and external audits.
➢ Review of laid down procedures and standards for production department to avoid cross cont-
amination.
➢ Developing a framework of quality standards, procedures & systems.
➢ Maintaining the safety awareness level and standards across the production department.
➢ Revamping workflow processes for integration of quality systems and effective implementation
of Quality Management systems.
➢ Communication
➢ Co-ordinate with inter-departments like warehouse, engineering, Quality control and Quality
assurance
➢ Co-ordinate and ensure planned preventive maintenance of production equipments.
➢ Co-ordinate with Customers for timely deliveries and continual improvements to enhance cus-
tomer satisfaction.
Training
➢ Identifying training needs and conducting employee training & development,
➢ Planning and scheduling training calendar for the associates.
➢ Impart on-job training and conduct refresher course to improve the skill and efficiency of
people.

Visited Norden machinery (Sweden) thrice in the last 6 years for technical discussions, machine modifi-
cations, FAT’s and study of the new as well as existing machines.
