Mrs Vickineswarie d/o Jqgadharan joined on board The Salvation Army Gracehaven's
residential programme on 1't July 2011 as a Block Supervisor, heading a section of 10 staff and
20 boys aged 13 to 18 in the Boys' Rehabilitation Unit, that houses juvenile cases referred for
rehabilitation purpose by the Juvenile & Family Court.
As a Block Supervisor, Vickineswarie's job responsibilities fundamentally entail leading and
directing the team of staff under her charge, to ensure that all aspects of her section needs are
being adequately met, particularly with regards to the boys' physical, social, emotional and
educational welfare. With the key role she carries, Vickineswarie is also the lead member in
representing her section needs in the Management and Review Board Committee of the Home.
Networking and collaboration with other stakeholders in the field such as the Juvenile Court,
schools and various specialists in the clinical field, is also an inevitable area of her work inorder
that the welfare of the wards under her care are holistically met.
ln her length of service with the Home, Vickineswarie has shown herself to be a conscientious
and accountable worker who promptly keeps up with report deadlines and her job
responsibilities. Despite the disciplinarian role she carries as a Block Supervisor, Vickineswjrie
has presented herself !o be an approachable figure by her section boys and staff who felt
supported under her guidance. She is also a supportive team player and I people builder, who
possesses the interpersonal skills to connect easily with others and to make them feel
supported' Vickineswarie has strong communication skills, which is an added strength to the
role she carries, in being the key representative of her Block in various official platforms.
Vickineswarie is a well regarded member of the staff team, who has shown to contribute her
best in the span she served with the Home. Vickineswarie's heart and passion have always
been in the field of counseling and the Home hence wishes her well in her iuture endeavours.
With her warm and caring personality, the Home believes that Vickineswarie would be able to
impact and touch lives wherever she is.
