  3. 3. 1. Introduction Tourism has turned out to be an economic booster contributing to the economic development of many countries over the last few decades. People see holidays as a necessity, and not as luxury in the present scenario. Tourism calls for coordination and cooperation between travel agents, tour operators, and tourists. Tourism has a few major elements − destinations, attractions, sites, accommodation, and all ancillary services. The need for a robust and dynamic tour management application has been around since the advent of the tourism concept.
  4. 4. Abstract  The proposed system is a web based application and maintains a centralized repository of all related information. The proposed system maintains centralized repository to make necessary travel arrangements and to retrieve information easily.  The system allows one to easily access the relevant information and make necessary travel arrangements. Users can decide about places they want to visit and make bookings online for travel and accommodation.  The tourism management system allows the user of the system access all the details such as weather, location, events, etc.  The system can also be used for both professional and business trips. This particular project deals with the problems on managing a tour and avoids the problems which occur when carried manually. Objectives  The objective of the project is to develop a system that automates the processes and activities of a travel and tourism agency.  The purpose is to design a system using which one can perform all operations related to traveling and sight-seeing.
  5. 5. Problem Statement in Existing system The present systems are inadequate in providing information and advices to the agencies and customers about tour plans. Often agencies are compelled to rely on local information sources and count on their own experience regarding time and cost. Through phone call they have to get information. There are some problems which are existing in my system those are given below concisely.  There will be many users visiting the portal and hence we require a strong and reliable frontend which can withhold the users on our site.  We need a strong database whereas data will be stored of everyone.

  8. 8. Hardware Description  Processor - 1.5GHz or above.  Memory - 512 MB RAM, 40GB Hard Disk.  Input Device - Keyboard, 2 or 3 Button Mouse.  Output Device - 1024 x 768 Display Resolution Monitor. Software Description  Operating system -Windows.  Front End - PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax.  Back End - MySQL.  Editor Tools - Notepad++.
  9. 9. Table Description Table name admin Description It stores the details of the Admin Attributes Id, UserName, Password, UpdationDate Primary key ID Table name Booking Description It stores the details of the User Booking Attributes BookingId, PackageId, UserEmail,FromDate,ToDate,Comment RegDate,status,CancelledBy,UpdationDate Primary key Booking_Id
  10. 10. Existing System  In the existing system details are maintained manually. Due to this the data retrieved is time consuming. Due to human calculation errors occur. Even when the data is maintained on spreadsheet inconsistency occurs as an order might be missed or wrongly entered or twice.  Data are stride an excel sheet which takes lot of time and data may be corrupted.  As storage and exchange of data is achieved only by use of excel sheets which lack validation capabilities, there is always risk of invalid, inaccurate or incomplete data being fed in computer.  Difficulty in managing multiple forms.  Lack of security
  11. 11. Proposed System & Methodology  The proposed system is computerized and has been developed using advance language therefore it gives more facilities than present system. It provides quick access to any data. In this system user have to enter the data only once and then it get linked with all files. This reduces the workload of user and it is also a time saving process. The information about any Subscriber can be easily retrieved. The system maintains all records easy.  The new system will convert manual work to the computerized work.  By converting manual work to the computerized work in that case it will remove all paper work.  By maintaining all the work on computer will increase our accuracy as well as speed of our work.  It will easily used and the time consuming is decreased.

  13. 13. Conclusion The mini project on “Tourism Management System” using the back- end and front-end in the database that provides the user to save the details about themselves, tourism hiring, booking details, services, etc,.It provides admin and user login with many more functions like adding new users, updating the booking details, tourism hiring process, components details to the database. The user can see the details in this system. Mainly, this database was created to store the details to update as per need.
