MAARS - Modular Advanced Armed Robotic System, which was developed in collaboration with the
United States Army and US Marine Corps. MAARS is a modular system that is used chiefly to
enhance the security of fixed sites, but can also be re-configured for ISR. It is controlled by a human
operator through tele-operation and can be used to react towards security threats and incursions
using a variety of non-lethal and even lethal weapons, depending on the situation.
Overall QinetiQ is set to maintain its position in the border security market, profiting from the
provision of niche products (UGV and DAS) that find a solid basin of opportunities both in mature
and emerging markets.
