Different Between Virtual Reality And Augmented Reality - Vorphy

Descargar para leer sin conexión

Virtual Reality (VR) creates a computer-generated environment that simulates a real or imaginary world, and the user interacts with it through a headset.

Augmented Reality (AR) enhances the real world by superimposing digital information on the physical environment, and the user views it through a device such as a smartphone or a headset.

In summary, VR replaces the real world with a simulated one, while AR adds information to the real world.

  1. 1. VIRTUAL AUGMENTED REALITY THE APPLICATION OF VAR IN EDUCATION
  2. 2. VIRTUAL-AUGMENTED REALITY 1.VIRTUAL REALITY 2.AUGMENTED REALITY
  3. 3. VIRTUAL REALITY • Virtual Reality (VR) refers to the innova on that gives nearly genuine and convincing encounters in a manufactured or virtual way. • The applica on of VR educa on is essen al since it brings the theore cal subject ma er as close to reality as it can.
  4. 4. VIRTUAL REALITY • The applica on of VR in the classroom replaces the learning environment with a virtual world where learners are totally disassociated with what is currently happening in the genuine world. • This applica on is an example of the integra on of technology in the teaching and learning process as part of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK).
  5. 5. Benefits of VR Educa on • Making education accessible: In South African schools, virtual reality can be used as teaching aids to compensate for the lack of other necessary teaching resources. For example, students can have access to virtual physics laboratories through VR. • Explaining theoretical concepts: Virtual reality application in education is deemed to be effective due to its affordance to students to have access to content that they would otherwise not have access to. They can see how various processes occur in real time. E.g., Students can have a real time visualization experience of how magnets interact with each other. • Enhancing educational experiences: Virtual reality enhances teaching and learning encounters by affording students with the opportunity to have immersive and interactive experiences that are not applicable in a non-resourced classroom. 7. 7. AUGMENTED REALITY • Augmented Reality refers to the improvement the genuine world by the superimposition of computer simulated data on the real-world environment. • AR in education can eradicate all the issues of lack of resources in schools and bridges the gap between content and reality.
  8. 8. AUGMENTED REALITY • An augment reality is a type of reality that superimposes genuine world environment with a partially virtual environment. Augmented reality is to a great extent resembles the genuine world circumstances as compared to the virtual reality (VR). • An example of the application of AR in education is students using their smartphones to view the Earth and its different layers as shown on the left.
  9. 9. Benefits of Augmented Reality • Interac ve learning: Augmented reality promotes ac ve and student centered learning where learners learn authen cally through an inquiry based approach. • Informa ve: Augmented reality provides access to informa on that would not otherwise not be accessible to learners. Learners can explore how various processes occur in real me without being physically there. • Time sufficient: The integra on of AR in educa on is me savvy since learners can pace their own learning process and the teachers spend less me explaining ma ers that can be inves gated using Augmented Reality applica ons.
