3. To access your Options select the file tab from the ribbon.
From the red side menu select Options.
This will open the PowerPoint Options screen.

4. You can personalise your presentations in the
PowerPoint Options by inputting your name and initials.
You can also customise the Ribbon and the
Quick Access Toolbar.

5. By selecting the Quick Access Toolbar from the Options left hand
menu you’ll open the customise the Quick Access Toolbar window.
You select commands from the left hand pane and select the
Add >> button to put them in your list on the right hand pane.
The left hand pane defaults to showing you Popular Commands
but can show you all commands, commands not in the ribbon
and commands by tabs.
In the example you can see that commands are organised to be
near similar items. You can re-order your commands with the
Up and Down arrows to the right of the right hand pane.
To display the Quick Access Toolbar on your presentations you
must ensure the check box beneath the left hand pane is
selected. The Quick Access Toolbar can also be added in other
Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.

6. Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access Toolbar will appear directly beneath the ribbon.
If you have more tools than space on your screen a small downward pointing triangle icon will be at the end of
the toolbar.
Some of the icons on the Quick Access Toolbar will appear ‘greyed out’, this is because the slide does not have items on it
that the ‘greyed out’ commands can be used for.

7. By selecting the Customise Ribbon from the left hand menu of
the Options you’ll open the customise the Ribbon window.
The left hand pane defaults to showing you Popular Commands
but can show you all commands, commands not in the ribbon
and commands by tabs.
You need to use the plus icon next to the Tabs and Groups
to see what commands are currently in use on the various
tabs.
To customise your Ribbon you need to add either a New Tab or
New Group using the buttons at the bottom of the Customise
the Ribbon pane.
You can then add commands from the left hand pane using the
Add >> button and reorganise where commands and groups
are in your tabs by using the Use the Up and Down arrows to
the right of the right hand pane.
