With the advancement of technology, the need for a virtual assistant is increasing tremendously. The development of virtual assistants is booming on all platforms. Cortana, Siri are some of the best examples for virtual assistants. We focus on improving the efficiency of virtual assistant by reducing the response time for a particular action. The primary development criterion of any virtual assistant is by developing a simple U.I. for assistant in all platforms and core functioning in the backend so that it could perform well in multi plat formed or cross plat formed manner by applying the backend code for all the platforms. We try a different research approach in this paper. That is, we give computation and processing power to edge devices itself. So that it could perform well by doing actions in a short period, think about the normal working of a typical virtual assistant. That is taking command from the user, transfer that command to the backend server, analyze it on the server, transfer back the action or result to the end user and finally get a response if we could do all this thing in a single machine itself, the response time will get reduced to a considerable amount. In this paper, we will develop a new algorithm by keeping a local database for speech recognition and creating various helpful functions to do particular action on the end device. However, recognizing finger prints in Linux based embedded computers (raspberry pi) is still a very complex problem. This entire work is done on the Linux based embedded computer called raspberry pi, in which database creation, fingerprint reader access, authentication and recognition using python were entirely done on raspberry pi This paper discusses on the standardized authentication model which is capable of extracting the finger prints of individual and store that in database . Then the use of final finger print to match with others in finger prints present in the database to show the capability of this model and also updating the database obtained to the organisation by creating an application through cloud. The technology has developed, speech recognition has become progressively implanted in our everyday lives with voice-driven apps like Amazonâs Alexa, Appleâs Siri, Microsoftâs Cortana, or the many voice-responsive features of Google. From our phones, computers, watches, and even our refrigerators, each new voice-interactive device that we bring into our daily lives extends our need for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

In todayâs era almost all tasks are digitalized. We have Smartphone in hands and it is nothing less than having world at your fingertips. These days we arenât even using fingers. We just speak of the task and it is done. There exist systems where we can say Text Dad, âIâll be late today.â And the text is sent. That is the task of a Virtual Assistant. It also supports specialized task such as booking a flight, or finding cheapest book online from various e- commerce sites and then providing an interface to book an order are helping automate search, discovery and online order operations.â
Virtual Assistants are software programs that help you ease your day to day tasks, such as showing weather report, creating reminders, making shopping lists etc. They can take commands via text (online chat bots) or by voice. Voice based intelligent assistants need an invoking word or wake word to activate the listener, followed by the command. For my project the wake word is JIA. We have so many virtual assistants, such as Appleâs Siri, Amazonâs Alexa and Microsoftâs Cortana. For this project, wake word was chosen JIA.â
This system is designed to be used efficiently on desktops. Personal assistant software improves user productivity by managing routine tasks of the user and by providing information from online sources to the user. JIA is effortless to use. Call the wake word âJIAâ followed by the command. And within seconds, it gets executed.â
Voice searches have dominated over text search. Web searches conducted via mobile devices have only just overtaken those carried out using a computer and the analysts are already predicting that 50% of searches will be via voice byâ
