No 1 - The purpose to introduce
a new amendment in the citizenship act
is to get protection from all the illegal
immigrants. In other words, the Hindu’s,
Sikh’s, Christians and Muslims who
are from Pakistan, Bangladesh and
Afghanistan need to prove that they
are legal citizens by submitting legal
documents.
No 2 - There have been several
protests against this change in the
Citizenship Act. People are expressing a
violent reaction to this rule.
No 3 -12 years is the basic
eligibility criteria for naturalization, if the
Hindu’s, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists and
Muslims from Afghanistan, Pakistan and
Bangladesh don’t have their documents,
they will be given Indian citizenship in 6
years.
No 4 -The problem has arisen
because petitioners think that Muslims are
deprived of their rights in the Constitution.
No 5 -Details about the act
>This law is applicable to the citizens who
were forced to seek shelter in India because
of being ill-treated on the ground of religion
>This law is essential to protect such
people from illegal migration
>The present citizenship law says :
a citizen should have entered India on or
before December 31, 2014
Or, the citizen should have been born and
lived in India for 11 years at least
No 6 - Why should this bill be
implemented?
Citizenship Act 2019 - 8 Things You Should Know!
SBI is going to implement a new rule of introducing
OTP based ATM transactions if you want to
withdraw more than Rs 10,000. In other words, the
withdrawal will be successful only after the OTP is
verified.
In order to reduce the rate of unauthorized
transactions, this new rule of the ATM will
be introduced. Besides, the State Bank
ATM’s have introduced another aspect of
security for cash withdrawals.
The OTP will be received on the
customer’s number that is registered
with the bank. This functionality is not
developed in National Financial Switch
so this is applicable only if the State Bank
holder withdraws cash from SBI Bank.
NFS manages quite a lot of the domestic
interbank transactions.
How does this work? The holder will
need to type in the amount he/she wants
to withdraw, then the ATM screen will
display the OTP option. Once the holder
receives the OTP number as an SMS on
their phone, they will be able to enter the
number and successfully withdraw cash.
This rule will be implemented from
January 1st and the holder can withdraw
money anytime between 8.am and 8.pm.
The center believes that minority groups
have come to India to stay away from the
oppression in all the Muslim-majority nations.
No 7 -Loopholes of the act
This bill does have loopholes, all the religious
minorities are not given protection. What
are the problems citizens face? In Pakistan,
the Ahmedia Muslim sects and Shias are
discriminated against. In Burma, Hindus and
Rohingya Muslims are oppressed. In Srilanka,
Tamil Hindu and Christians encounter
problems. Therefore, if the Government thinks
that Muslims can go back to Muslim-nations
and seek shelter. How about the problems the
other religions are facing?
No 8 - What does the opposition
think about this act?
The opposition thinks that this act intends
to declare Muslims as second-class citizens
of India and they are being treated different
from other religious groups. In a way, this
law is going against the law of fundamental
rights. Additionally, they even think that the
Parliament doesn’t have a right to bring
about changes in the Constitution.
The law isn’t yet operating, the home
ministry is yet to decide on the rules. This
matter is taken to the Supreme Court as
experts need to take a look at it.

Ingredients Used For Painting
The painters
who are
engaged
in making
Pattachitra have
a distinctive
style of
preparing the
canvas. What
they use is a
white cloth that
is coated stone
powder and the
gum of tamarind
seeds. There
is a reason
as to why
the canvas is
made this way,
it is because
natural colors
can easily get
absorbed. For the pigments
in the painting, the gum of the
Kaitha tree is used.
Depictions of
Pattachitra
This iconic form of art has
exemplary depictions. You will
be amazed to see them all!
A Spectacular
Tradition Of
Pattachitra
In Jagannath Puri temple,
on Debasnana Purnima, all
the deities are given a bath
with cold water with a belief
that they will get resistance
to withstand the bad heat in
summer. It is believed that
during the period of ‘Ansara’
the deities fall sick for 15
days and they
are not seen to
the public.
As these deities
are not present,
the painters
make paintings
of three deities
of Balabhadra,
Subhadra and
Jagannath.
These paintings
are given the
name of Ansar
Patti.

Significance of
Sankranti
The festival generally falls in
the month of January. It is
the first festival of new year

are shorter. It is religiously
believed that Lord Sun comes
from the tropic of Capricorn to
tropic of Cancer.
The belief is to forget the
bitterness and everything
negative that happened in
past and share love, shown
concern to fill positive
energy. It is a festival that
is celebrated to unitedly to
develop cordial relationships.
l Most of the jobs have
weekend breaks and holidays
occasionally. But some of the
occupations are to work round
the clock without breaks and
day offs. Farmers community
is the biggest of all in India,
who don’t take any break from
their work.
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
So, it is a tribute to farmers
for serving the country with
their hard work. The farmers
obtain what they produced
through out the year in
the field and celebrate the
festival.
> On this auspicious
day, people express
gratitude towards each
other worshiping Lord Son
in various forms. It is to
believe that this kind of vibes
increases spirituality towards
god. The donations and
offerings that are done on this
day are more fruitful.

Sankranti it is considered as
Uttarayan period. It is also
strongly believed in Hindu
religion that- the people who
passes away from the festival
day and upto six months go to
heaven directly and they also
don’t have rebirths.
This is a belief from
Mahabharata and it is
evident as Bhisma waited for
Uttarayan period to arrive to
free himself from this world.

5 Stories
That Will Make Your Kids Happy
STORY FOR KIDS
Kids are energetic and so is their imagination. The more you
spend time telling stories to your kids, their thinking gets
better and they develop good listening skills. But, you will
need to be creative yourself and stay prepared with a new and
interesting story every time your kid wants to hear something
nice and feel happy.
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
At this moment, Midas was the happiest person
in the world. He gets to make everything gold.
He jumps with joy and touches so many things
that turn into gold. Be it vegetables, fruits, and
a few other things. People in the palace are
surprised to see so much gold.
Now there is something that happens and
Midas gets unhappy. As Midas is happy in
the world of gold, he forgets that everything
he touches would turn into gold. So, he is not
careful and hugs his daughter. Sadly, she turns
into gold. Midas is shocked and disheartened
as he loves his daughter even more than the
gold.
Midas runs back to his garden and pleads for
Dionysus to grant him a wish of getting his
daughter back to life and promises not to be
greedy the next time. Dionysus gives him back
his daughter and thereafter, Midas learns to be
satisfied and happy with everything that he has
instead of asking for more.
Learning
Never let greed spoil you, always smile to all
the gifts of life and work hard for what you want.
Story No 2 - Cows And Tigers
This story will teach your kids how important it
is to be in a team and not let that togetherness
break. When togetherness breaks, other people
get to interfere and spoil that unity.
In a village there lived four cows, they were
neighbors and the best of friends. They were
blessed, as they ate and grazed together. They
were always there with each other in happiness
and sorrow. This bond always kept them safe.
As they were always together, no lions or tigers
could break their bond or kill them for food.
A small problem came their way, two cows
fought with each other and they changed their
You can’t let your child down and you have to
buck up with your storytelling skills. Here are
interesting, moral oriented and cute stories
that will make your kid happy and keep him/
her engaged. Story-telling will strengthen both
of your bonds. Read through the stories!
Story No 1 - The Midas Touch
The Midas touch will make your kid aware of
how necessary it is to be happy with what he
or she has. It is necessary that a kid learns
this quality.
Once upon a time, there lived a rich king
named Midas. He was in love with two things
in his life. One, his little daughter and the
second thing he loved was his gold. He had
gold in abundance.
Midas had a beautiful palace, in that palace
he had a lovely rose garden. One day a man
named Silenus passed by that palace when
he was drunk and not in a condition to walk
back home.
Midas is generous with this man and he
doesn’t mind him stopping by at his garden.
What do you think is the reason? Well, there
is another man named Dionysus who is the
God of wine and celebration. So, the drunk
man is his friend and Midas has a feeling that
this drunk man would wish something good
for Midas and his family.
For the sake of luck and wishes, he allows
Silenus to stay despite his wife and daughter
having an objection with it. What happens?
Dionysus is extremely happy with Midas upon
learning that he was kind to his friend and he
asks Midas to make a wish. Midas asks for
turning everything that he touches into gold.
Dionysus thinks to himself that this is a bad
idea and understands that it might not prove
good for Midas yet he grants his wish.

this fight and they go to kill the cows who
dispersed different directions. Sadly, they
successfully kill the cows and just with one
problem their unity breaks.
Learning
Never allow an outsider take advantage of
your problems. Always solve problems with
your friends, forgive each other and don’t let
your unity break.
Story No 3 - Smart Friends
This story teaches us that being over-
confident can make us lose in life. We must be
confident, it is good. Over-confidence is bad
for health.
There were four close friends who loved each
other’s company and they were extremely
naughty. They never enjoyed being disciplined
at school. Whenever they had a class, they
would bunk it and go to a party with each
other. They enjoyed themselves to the fullest.
Once they had a test and they didn’t want to
appear for it. So, the friends made a plan to
lie to the dean and escape. They made up
storytelling the dean that they had gone for a
wedding and on their way, the tyre of their car
got punctured. Therefore, to reach home, they
had to push the car all night. They promise
the dean to write their exam some other day.
The dean agrees to their request and gives
them time to study for the test. All the friends
work hard, study for the test completely and
are ready to take their test. Now, the dean
asks all of them to sit in separate classes to
appear for the test, the friends agree to this.
Now comes an example of real smartness,
the professor tests, and checks if the
friends spoke the truth or not. The professor
is smarter, he doesn’t ask the students
questions from their syllabus. He gives them
two questions that would test if they really
spoke the truth. The questions were, what is
your name and which tire of the car burst: he
gives them four options, a) Front left b) Front
right c) Rear left d) Rear right
Learning
So, we must always do what is right and when
we are wrong. We should always keep in
mind that if we can take 5 smart steps, there
is a person who can take 10 smarter steps
although we might not be sure of it.

Story No 4 - The Man Who
Boasts
This is a story of a man who loves boasting
about himself and he doesn’t realize that
boasting is not necessary for life.
A man named John lived by himself. He
always enjoyed traveling around the world.
One of his neighbors comes by to see him
after he returns home from his trip.
As he sees his neighbor, he starts to boast
about his adventurous experience. He
describes everything he did on his trip. He
mentions the different people he met and how
knowing so many people made him popular.
Until here it was okay that he said so many
nice things about himself.
Further, he started to exaggerate saying no
one in the world would have gone a long way
as he did.
He had a choice to stop at that but he
continued saying that there were people
who could prove that whatever he spoke
was true. As he crossed all his boundaries
of exaggeration, another neighbor who
overheard the conversation said, “Oh good
man, we do not need any witnesses to believe
your words. Imagine this place to be Rhodes
and leap for us”.
After what the other neighbor said, John was
ashamed and had nothing more to boast about
or even utter the next word for that matter. He
kept calm and moved away from the place.
Learning
When we do good or enjoy, it is not at all
necessary to boast about it. Besides being
judged, people would lose faith in us. Thus, it
isn’t necessary to over-share all good things
with people.
Story No 5 - The Conversation
Between Baby And Mother Camel
This story is about a mother and baby camel’s
conversation. The mother camel confidently
answers all the baby’s questions except for one
and her little one gets her to realize something
important that never crossed the mother camel’s
mind ever.
It was a sunny day at the zoo. The baby and
mother camel got free from their work, they
began chatting. The baby camel started to ask
her mother a few questions. What were they?
This left the mother camel surprised and she
didn’t have an answer to give to her little one.
This realization was important for the mother
camel.
Learning
It is good to work hard, focus on improving our
strengths, knowledge, and skills. However, in the
end, what truly matters is to be in the right place
and use those skills appropriately.

8 Health Trends
That Are Set To Shake
Things In 2020
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
When it comes round to one’s food habits and health trends, things
have been changing dynamically over the course of years. The
same is also expected to change things up in the year to come.
With the constant dynamic changes happening with every passing
year, it isn’t a surprise that when it comes to healthy living, the
trends are going to hit the roof in the year
of 2020 as well.
WWW.WISHESH.NET | JANUARY 2020
32
HEALTHY LIVING
But, with that comes the prospect of not
knowing what they are going to be. To
help you out on that front, we are going to
sort you out with some of the latest and
upcoming trends in the sphere of health and
fitness that you could expect in the year of
2020.
NO:1 Growth of plant based diet
Veganism has taken the world up by a storm
and more and more people are joining the
revolution to change their lifestyle and bring
about changes that have direct impacts on
the environment as well. But, according to
the experts, it is believed that the prospect of
the vegan diets and the plant based diets are
going to drastically gain a lot of momentum
in the year to come. The overall consumers
across the globe are expected to rise in the
coming years, which is why the brands are
also gearing up to leave behind their imprints
on the same as well.
NO:2 Mocktails to steal the show
Healthy eating has become a priority for
people and that is justified as well. If you do
want a glimpse into the future predictions
for 2020, it is believed that the same is
going to be taken over by a wide range of
mocktails around. People from the millennial
generation and the Gen Z generation are
drinking less and less and replacing their
drinks with a fruity variant of it, hence the
rise of the mocktails. More and more brands
are expected to introduce more alcohol free
drinks to cater to their target audience. There
are also expected to be more non alcoholic
bars that are going to open during that time.
NO:3 Introduction to nootropics
Nootropics, if you don’t know what they
are, are the compounds which contribute to
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
helping improve the overall functioning of the
brain function. While people are looking for
more and better ways to improve the overall
prospect of brain function, the nootropics
are expected to escalate that process even
further. The reason why nootropics are
expected to take a leap in the year to come
is because of the kind of impacts it leaves
behind on the body, especially when it comes
round to the cognition of an individual.
NO:4 Non dairy milk to take
	 the lead
Another one of the changes and trends that
is going to grace the health sphere is the
introduction to more of the non-dairy milk.
While we know of the basic ones like soy
milk, oat milk and the nut milks, there are
expected to be more variants in the year to
come. It is still unknown as to which ones
yet but the options are most definitely quite
a lot. Apart from the milk, other variants like
yogurt and the creamers are also going to
experience more variants in the year of 2020.

HEALTHY LIVING
NO:5 Bid adieu to carbs
	 and gluten
While we have been heavily reliant on carbs
and gluten to keep us satiated, the same is
expected to change course in the year to come.
More and more people are switching their diets
and cutting out the unnecessary carbs and
gluten is the main factor responsible in this.
There are going to be a number of changes
that are expected to come around but nothing
is set in stone yet. There have been several
alternatives, like switching the wheat flour bread
in a pizza for cauliflower bread and so on.
NO:6 CBD is going to take course
The cannabis industry is booming and all for the
right reasons. The year of 2020 is set to expect
the complete discourse of the CBD industry
and how the same is going to enter the frontline
healthy living prospect. It is not just the CBD oil
but there are expected to be several other
variants and varieties to it which are set
to stay and make its impact on the overall
health of the people across the globe.
Apart from the direct raw consumption, the
CBD is also going to enter the mainstream
skincare and beauty line as well.
NO:7 Switch to fresh snacks
With people being more and more
conscious about their health, it is best
expected that the coming health trend in
2020 is going to witness people making
switches from the packaged snacks to
the fresh ones. This is expected to further
streamline one’s health and prevent
unnecessary bout of negative implications
it has on the body. Switching to healthy
and fresh snacks like fruits and nuts are
going to be the rave in the year to come,
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
especially when it comes round to the
best one in the lot. Apart from fruits,
the veggie sticks are also making an
appearance.
NO:8 Natural sweeteners are
the way to go
Another trend in the year of 2020 that is
expected to come and stick around is the
importance of the natural sweeteners.
From agave to honey and even stevia,
the options are quite diverse but it is
quite important that you do focus on the
available options. It is best suggested that
you do focus on keeping your health in
check, even with the possible availability
of the sweetening options. It is important
to keep certain prospects in mind,
the growing importance of the natural
sweeteners being on a rampant rise.

CHANGE IN THE GUIDELINES OF THE
OVERSEAS CITIZENS OF INDIA (OCI) CARDS
Major problems are being faced by the Overseas Citizens
of India cardholders while traveling to the country as an
enforcement of a rule has been made in recent times in
the OCI card rules regarding which adequate awareness
has not been created among the diaspora which has
been resulting in cancellation of trips to India by a large
number of Indian-Americans.
NRI IMMIGRATION
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
According to the guidelines that have been
made in recent times, the OCI card holders
below the age of 21 years and above the
age of 50 years need to have their OCI cards
renewed after the renewal of their passports.
While this rule has been there for long, it
is not known to a majority of people in the
Indian diaspora due to lack of awareness. It
has caused discomfort to a large number of
Indian-Americans in recent times as the Indian
Government sought to strictly enforce this rule.
Several Indian-Americans were asked to
return mid-way from places like Dubai and
several airlines have refused to board the
passengers on a flight to India whose OCI card
numbers were not matched with the numbers
on their passports.
However the government has relaxed the
guidelines viewing the difficulties being faced
by some Overseas Citizens of India(OCI) card
holders while traveling to their home country.
The Government has decided to relax the
norms till June 30th 2020.
It is said that, in case an OCI card holder is
below the age of 20 years and has not got
their OCI card re-issued on the renewal of their
passport, he or she may travel to the country
on the strength of the existing OCI card with the
number of the old passport with a condition that
the cardholder carries the old passport bearing
the number that is on the OCI card along with
the new passport.
In case an OCI card holder who has attained
the age of 50 years and has got their passport
renewed but not the OCI card, he or she may
travel on the strength of the existing OCI card
along with the old as well as the new passports.
Though the OCI guidelines have been existing
since 2005 stating that the OCI card needs
to be re-issued each time a passport is being
renewed by the card holder up to the age of
20 years. The guidelines also include that,
after completing 50 years of age the OCI card
ought to be re-issued once on acquiring new
passport.
A message has been issued by the government
of India’s Foreigners Division of the Home
Ministry on December 17 directing the airlines
and the related government that the Overseas
Citizens of India (OCI) card holders below the
age of 20 years or after the age of 50 years of
age and who have renewed their passports can
continue their travel to India as the the date ha
seen extended up to June 30, 2020.

ISROChiefconfirmsIndia’ssecondmission
toMoon-Chandrayaan 3
The ISRO Chief, K Sivan finally confirmed that India is preparing for the
launch of Chandrayaan 3, India’s 2nd attempt to travel to moon. Sivan has
also confirmed stating that the projects of Chandrayaan 3 and Gangayaan
are the two important factors that the agency is going to focus on
in the year of 2020.
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
With a budget of INR 6.5 billion,
cheaper than Chandrayaan 2, this
is expected to be the cheapest
moon mission in the world till date.
Chandrayaan 2 did fall short with
the expectations in the last minute
but ISRO is all set to come back
with double the enthusiasm with
their next mission. The organization
is gearing up for their next launch.
Apart from Chandrayaan 3, ISRO is
also focusing on preparing for their
maiden human spaceflight program,
Gangayaan. In one of the New
Years press briefing, the ISRO chief
further clarified saying that their emphasis and priorities
are going to be on these two projects for this year and
that they are manning up with more experience from
Chandrayaan 2 to ensure that the same doesn’t have in
the next mission.
Sivan also stated saying that ISRO has also acquired
the land that would be required for the setting up of the
second spacecraft located in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
It is also going to be the site for the maiden launch of
another space craft, the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle
(SSLV).
The project has been approved by the government
already and the allotted amount required for the project
has also been sanctioned accordingly. Sivan said that the
progress with the Chandrayaan 3 is going quite smoothly.
When asked about why the budget of the Chandrayaan
3 is lesser than the Chandrayaan 3, Sivan explained
saying that the orbiter from Chandrayaan 2, which is
successfully orbiting the Moon around 100 kms away has
a life span of around seven years. This is the reason why
Chandrayaan 3 is going to be carrying just the rover and
the lander.
This is the reason why the cost of the mission has come
down to around INR 6.5 billion instead of the expected
INR 10 billion. The one factor that is the same for both
of the projects is the Bahubali rocket. For the launch of
the Chandrayaan 3, the scientists have decided that they
are yet again going to make use of the India’s ‘fat boy’
geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle (GSLV).
With all the information shared, there is still no specific
date allotted to the final launch of the mission. The actual
launch date is still being debated and the moment the
same is finalized, it will be released to the public. Sivan
explained saying that building and developing everything
for the Chandrayaan 3 can take somewhere around 14-
16 months.
Sivan also does believe that the launch could happen
in 2021. Even for the Gangayaan project, Sivan hasn’t
disclosed any kind of final launch date. ISRO is also
working on a number of additional projects which they
are going to complete by 2020.

of the arrest suggest that Dar was
finally caught alive and arrested in an
operation that was implemented by the

An associated from Salim Parray, who
is one of the prominent members of the
terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, Dar was
planning on attacking the security forces
with the mission he was undertaking.
According to the reports, it is suggested
that Dar is currently being investigated
for around eight different cases that

In a reported stated by the state police,

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry
Plan To Step Away From Royal Roles

The royal family members had a meeting and Queen Elizabeth

JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
As a part of the transition period, Meghan

The couple didn’t abruptly take this decision.
They have been discussing it for a long time

The two of them aim at dividing their time in

countries. In addition to this, there is a
question on how will their security be funded.
Sources said, the couple does have financial
security, as Meghan has earned it when
she was an actress and from Harry’s end it
is what he inherited from Princess Diana’s
estate. They could see a difficulty in finding
jobs as they are from the royal family.
According to the accounts from Clarence
house, when Meghan became a part of the
Royal Family, over 5million Euros with an
increase of 1.8% in 2017 - 18.

Indian Navy Bans Smartphones
A senior Indian Naval Officer declared that no Facebook,
WhatsApp, Instagram and other media would be allowed on naval
bases and ships. Recently, seven Navy Personnel’s and a hawala
operator were arrested for exposing sensitive information to an
Espionage racket in Pakistan. An intelligence agency found
out about this.
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
Three Navy personnel’s who violated
rules are from Mumbai, Karvar and
Vishakapatnam. Pakistani agents got
information about the warships and
submarines from the personnel’s.
The Eastern and Western naval
command centers took care of the
security of the maritime border from
China and Pakistan, they exposed
information to Pakistan agents.
The headquarters of the Eastern
Command of the Indian Navy and the
base of the nuclear submarine Arihant
was exposed. The Chinese ship
movements in the Indian waters are
monitored by the Eastern Command.
Despite sensitive information being
revealed, the only advantage of this
whole scenario is that critical assets
are safe and no security concerns with
regard to this.
This case is being investigated by the
Andhra Pradesh Police and some of the
junior naval personnel were arrested.
‘Dolphine Nose’ is a mission where
the Andhra Pradesh police intelligence
agency, the central intelligence agencies,
and naval agencies worked together to
expose the racket.
On December 20, the guilty were taken
to the National Investigation Agency
Court in Vijaywada and they are in
judicial custody until January 3rd.
The Pakistani intelligence operatives
trapped the sailors as Pakistani women,
they had sexually explicit chats and
used it against the sailors. These sailors
were blackmailed to reveal sensitive
information. According to the police,
those Pakistani women removed the
sailors from their friend’s list.
A salute and gesture of respect to a few of the women
freedom fighters who were a part of the freedom movement
directly or indirectly, however, they didn’t come into the
limelight like the other famous freedom fighters like
Nehru or Gandhi.
5 WOMEN FREEDOM FIGHTERS
WHO DIDN’T COME INTOTHE LIMELIGHT

FREEDOM FIGHTER
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
They deserve to be known and we can
equally take inspiration from them, learn
and take steps in being better people
and contributors to the nation. Here is
a list of all the women freedom fighters
and their contribution to our nation.
Take a look!
No 1 - Mahadevi Verma
Mahadevi Verma was born on March
26, 1907, and she died on September
11, 1987. She was known for writing
good poetry, was an educationist and a
freedom fighter.
She was a major poet of “ Chhayavaad”.
She has written a lovely story about
cows and this is related to her real-life.
The part when she describes
peacocks is the best. She
has beautifully illustrated it in
“Neelkanth”.
Although Mahadevi Verma
directly wasn’t a part of the
Allahabad campaign started
by Gandhi ji back then. She
supported his teachings
and did two things for the
Freedom Movement. She
wore Khadi and stopped
talking in English.
By profession, she was
a Vice-Chancellor and
professor at Prayag Mahila
Vidyapeeth. Although the
time then didn’t support
women’s education, her
mother encouraged her to
learn Sanskrit and Hindi.
“Bachpan ke din” was
Mahadevi Verma’s biography
in which she appreciates how
her parents supported her at
a time when a girl child was
considered a burden for the
parents. Subhadra Kumari
Chauhan was Mahadevi’s
roommate and then became
her close friend, the two of
them wrote poetry together.
When we have to look at her
personality, she was the most
modest woman. She lived a
simple life and it is seen in the
way she dressed and what she
ate.
She was always found in white
clothes, slept on a wooden
bed and the fact that she never
looked at her face in the mirror
shows the gem of a person
she was. Perhaps she believed
in inner-beauty through good
deeds.

to this, Maniben Patel accompanied
Kasturi Gandhi to participate in the
Satyagraha movement and was
arrested for being a part of the non-

had 35 lakhs in it and asked her to
only hand it over to Nehru, it was the
money of Congress party. She was
obedient and did as her father said.

movement. She was equally
a part of the Indian National
Congress and Salt Satyagraha
Movement. She was arrested a
lot of times by the British for being
a women activist and standing
against the British.
She was a mother of three
children. Her mother-inlaw did
her best to keep her away from
the freedom movement after she
lost her last son and that’s when
she lost interest in worldly affairs
and got involved in the Indian
Independence Movement.
She dedicated herself to Bhoodan
and the Gramdan Movement

LIFE STYLE
HowNotToLet
Someone Disturb
Your Peace
What is said to you doesn’t define you, so why
let it get to you?
Judgments! Taunts! Criticism! Opinions!
Gossips! All of this passes on negative energy and
we who over-estimate ourselves to be perfect are
anything but perfect.
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
It is a human tendency to get involved in a conversation
where we bad-mouth a person or for that matter, we
become judgemental after hearing one side of the
story. Who doesn’t do it? We all do it and so expecting
someone not to do it to us is being unreasonable and
trying to escape reality.
WWW.WISHESH.NET | JANUARY 2020
70
Think about this, if someone
forms an opinion about you
or you are criticized for your
actions, will that make a
difference to you unless you
take it into your head?
Let’s get reasonable and
admit it that we get affected
and sometimes so badly that
it hampers our peace of mind
and is psycologically disturbing
to an extent that we fear to
hear a negative comment
about ourselves.
This fear and habit of taking
everything too personally
is solely the reason for our
disrupted peace and never-
ending disappointments. It
could be not getting a response
to a message to someone
telling you that you have a bad
sense of humor. Do you think
it is fair to take everything to
heart and forget who you are?
No! If you are affected today
because someone said
something to you or if your
peace is always targeted when
you hear bad about yourself,
you should follow these tips
and learn how to stop letting
people bother you with their
words or actions
No 1 - Discern
That You Are Not
A Remote Control
Can you predict or control
what you are going to feel
the next day? No, right?
When you cannot do it for
yourself, is it in your control
to stop a person from feeling
or saying what they want to?
Every individual is different.
Good and bad is there in all
of us. You will find sensible
people to the most evil-
minded. We are in a world
and it is quite obvious that
you cannot escape how
people think about you.
Take Away
It would make sense to feel
bad if you were an automatic
remote control. You could
keep a check on what people
say and think. In reality, you
are not and when the control
is not yours the best you can
do is to let it go.
No 2 - Time To
Make A Few
Choices
If a friend of yours comes
up with her opinion that is
not in your favor. It can be
disappointing, but, the choice
is for you to make of ignoring
it or taking it seriously. A
situation will arise anytime,
the tackling part is based on
the choices you make.
LIFE STYLE
Take Away
You either talk for yourself or
don’t let it affect you. If you
think it is worth molding and
bringing up a few changes
in yourself, then go for it. If
you think cutting off with the
person gives you peace, just
go for it and if you want to be
the mature one and ignore it,
you can do it with all pleasure.
No 3 - Look Into
Yourself
Is it always the opposite
person who is at a fault? Isn’t
it possible that even you are
going wrong at somewhere?
May be or maybe not. So,
when you are upset with
another person you need to
look into yourself and see if
you provoked or were a part of
the upsetting situation or not.
Take Away
If you are upset that your
friend is talking behind your
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
back, what you can do is, check if you have
gone wrong somewhere and if necessary
you can ask her/him about it yourself.
No 4 - Don’t Resort To
Self-Blame
It is good when you introspect and check
what didn’t go right from your end. If you
don’t find anything, you need to understand
that there is nothing directly wrong with
you. The person whose words are affecting
you is going through a bad day or a rough
patch himself/herself. If not this, then it is in
the nature of a person to behave that way.
Take Away
It is tough to be saintly and understand if a
person is speaking ill of you, but, whenever
you come across a situation of blaming
yourself, just tell yourself that it is not about
you, but, it is the opposite person who is
struggling. If it is a friend you can offer help
and if you don’t know the person then you
should choose to ignore what happened.
WWW.WISHESH.NET | JANUARY 2020
72
No 5 - Choose Not To React
When you choose not to react or let
something get to you, the chances of being
disappointed or your peace going for a toss is
the least. Having said, it is totally up to you if
you don’t want anything to disrupt your peace.
Take Away
A few minutes of patience will save you
from a lot of drama. When you are the most
affected, just keep your guard at that point in
time, don’t react and the drama ends there.
What you should do then?
>Walk out of that place
>Avoid having a conversation with
anyone when you are upset
> Just give yourself a break and let it
not haunt your mind
> Get busy
> Count from 1 to 10 and then 10 to 1.
Gulp down some water
> After a few minutes talk to yourself
and try to put yourself in the opposite
person’s shoes
No 6 - Speak Your Heart
Out To A Well-Wisher
A well-wisher will be your reflection who
will hear you out and at the same time tell
you what is it that went wrong from your
end. This way you get a clear picture.
Lighten your heart and share the reason for
disappointment with a person who wishes good
for you. Speaking up might no bring you a
definite solution, it makes you feel much better.
Take Away
> If you don’t want to talk to a
known person then you can consult a
professional
> Speak without hesitation and don’t
LIFE STYLE
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
filter anything you feel.
Clearly let your emotions out
> Let them know if they can
be of help to you
> Think over the suggestions
they give you
No 7 - Learn To
Balance Your
Emotions
It is not practical to outrightly
avoid what you feel. If the words
are hurtful you are definitely going
to feel bad or want to burst out in
anger.
Don’t stop yourself from feeling
your emotions, let it come.
Controlling them is the next step.
It is left to you to control those
emotions or have an unhealthy
reaction to the situation.
If you have a rapo with the person
whom you are disappointed with
you can directly talk to that person
and this way you get to feel better.
Take Away
Allow yourself to go through the
anger or pain and explain to
yourself to get a grip over your
emotions and choose healthy
ways to let it out.
Conclusion
Letting go has true power and
once you have mastered it you can face any difficulty. In
the case of being totally upset by what people say, it is
important that you get a hold of your emotions and let the
world say what they have to say.
You have the power to either stop it from bothering you or
take it as an opportunity to improve. So all the people out
there, stop seeing negativity the way it is, change your
perspective and nothing in the world can disturb your
peace.
WWW.WISHESH.NET | JANUARY 2020
74 Every relationship in this world stands on emotional
grounds. We are designed in a way that our connection
with everyone we are close to is only because of strong
emotions. Call those emotions love, care or respect, they
bring people together.
Understanding An Emotional
Connection In A Relationship
RELATIONSHIP
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
WWW.WISHESH.NET | JANUARY 2020
76
When two like-minded or unlike-
minded people establish a
connection, they are sure to
have an emotional bond with one
another.
Give this emotional bond a
deeper thought. You must have
had it with a friend or you are
probably having it with the man
or woman you secretly or openly
in love with.
Had it not been for emotions,
none of us would have even
valued each other. Now, coming
to relationships that involve
a boyfriend-girlfriend or a
marriage, it is highly essential to
have an emotional connection
in that relationship, it is that one
element that can either take the
relationship to heights or put an
end to a superficial bond.
Emotional connections can
either happen in no time or it
takes a lifetime. It is all upon the
wavelength between the man
and the woman. Emotionally
connection is one kind of
intimacy where the two people
know no limitations.
Even better, it is even much
deeper than physical intimacy
is. Relationships lacking an
emotional connection can easily
break. However, relationships
having an emotional connection
don’t break despite the worst
experiences between a couple.
An emotional connection is good
and bad in its own way.
When a man and woman
are on the same page in
an emotional connection,
heaven of love is made.
Contrarily, when emotional
connections are forced or
one-sided, it is like a dome
of pain.
Coming to its relevance, an
emotional connection is the
heartbeat of a long-lasting
relationship. Only when
two people are emotionally
connected, they are close
and their vulnerable self with
each other. How important is
this? It makes you aware of
how much you can get along
with your partner.
If emotional closeness is
lacking in a relationship,
you will never be able to
sense the importance of
your partner in your life.
The happiness in being
emotionally connected to
your partner makes you aware
of what it is to forgive, trust,
feel comfortable and get deep
with your partner.
Only when you have an
emotional connection with
your partner, you can work
and grow in that relationship.
What Happens
When You Are Not
Emotionally Connected?
If you have a good emotional
connection with your partner,
well and good. Here are a
few points that indicate a
lack of emotional bond in a
relationship. Take a look!
NO:1 You Feel
An Unexplainable
Distance
When a factor in your
relationship is missing, you
will be quick at sensing it.
RELATIONSHIP
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
Even when the two of you
feel emotionally connected
to each other, it is easily
understandable.
Lack of emotional intimacy will
make you feel all alone even
when your partner is around.
You will always feel far away
and insecure of him/her. You
won’t be able to specify the
reason and yet feel it really
strong.
This can be a sign that you
have to work on building
emotional intimacy between
the two of you.
NO:2 Feelings
Are Not Spoken
About
When will you be open
enough to share what
you feel? Only when your
partner and you have
established a bond and
closeness, right?
When the emotional
connection between the two
of you is weak, you will not
be able to talk about what is
bothering you. It will be there
in your heart and maybe your
partner’s heart too.
These accumulated thoughts
and discomfort can cause
further problems and
arguments between the two of
you.
WWW.WISHESH.NET | JANUARY 2020
78
NO:3 Expressing Love
Is One-Sided
When two people are equally
connected to each other, both of
them will quarrel the sweet way
to talk their hearts out.
However, when that emotional
connection isn’t strong, only one
partner who is too much into the
other will be found talking his/her
heart out or expressing love.
NO:4 Charm In The
Relationship Is Missing
Charm in a relationship is
essential for the two people to
go a long way. What does it
mean? Is it sex? or is it about
physical attraction? Well, it
is much more. Charm in the
relationship talks of feeling the
butterflies in the stomach even if
its been years that the two of you
have been dating or married.
When the emotional closeness
between the two of you starts to
fade away, the beautiful charm
between the two of you is sort of
disrupted.
NO:5 Heartfully
Clinging Doesn’t
Happen
When you are emotionally
connected to your partner, you
will want to cling to that person
in a special way. When two
people are not emotionally
connected to each other,
they only cling when they
have to get physically
intimate.
Signs such as holding
hands, leaning on each
other’s shoulder and
cuddling each other are
missing. These are little
things and you must be
wondering if it even matters.
To your surprise, it matters
more than anything.
While a few couples are not
touchy in crowd, they would
at least personally have it with
each other.
NO:6 You Behave
Like ‘Known
Strangers’ With
Each Other
Isn’t it obvious that you will end
RELATIONSHIP
JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET
up speaking your heart out with
the person you are close to?
You will for sure. When couples
are emotionally connected, they
share interests, problems and
never get tired of bearing each
other’s sense and nonsense.
On the contrary, where there
is no emotional connection
between the couple, all they
have between them is silence
and they are never interested
to hear or speak of what’s
happening in their life with
excitement.
NO:5 Your Partner
Doesn’t Affect You
Think of this, if a person you
are not close to passes a
comment on you, would it
matter as much as it would if
the one you are emotionally
bonded with does? That’s
exactly how it is when couples
are emotionally connected to
each other. Every action and
reaction matters.

NFS manages quite a lot of the domestic interbank transactions. How does this work? The holder will need to type in the amount he/she wants to withdraw, then the ATM screen will display the OTP option. Once the holder receives the OTP number as an SMS on their phone, they will be able to enter the number and successfully withdraw cash. This rule will be implemented from January 1st and the holder can withdraw money anytime between 8.am and 8.pm. The law isn’t yet operating, the home ministry is yet to decide on the rules. This matter is taken to the Supreme Court as experts need to take a look at it. While this rule has been there for long, it is not known to a majority of people in the Indian diaspora due to lack of awareness. It has caused discomfort to a large number of Indian-Americans in recent times as the Indian Government sought to strictly enforce this rule. Several Indian-Americans were asked to return mid-way from places like Dubai and several airlines have refused to board the passengers on a flight to India whose OCI card numbers were not matched with the numbers on their passports. However the government has relaxed the guidelines viewing the difficulties being faced by some Overseas Citizens of India(OCI) card holders while traveling to their home country. The Government has decided to relax the norms till June 30th 2020. It is said that, in case an OCI card holder is below the age of 20 years and has not got their OCI card re-issued on the renewal of their passport, he or she may travel to the country on the strength of the existing OCI card with the number of the old passport with a condition that the cardholder carries the old passport bearing the number that is on the OCI card along with the new passport. Sivan has also confirmed stating that the projects of Chandrayaan 3 and Gangayaan are the two important factors that the agency is going to focus on in the year of 2020.
  • 47. JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET With a budget of INR 6.5 billion, cheaper than Chandrayaan 2, this is expected to be the cheapest moon mission in the world till date. Chandrayaan 2 did fall short with the expectations in the last minute but ISRO is all set to come back with double the enthusiasm with their next mission. The organization is gearing up for their next launch. Apart from Chandrayaan 3, ISRO is also focusing on preparing for their maiden human spaceflight program, Gangayaan. In one of the New Years press briefing, the ISRO chief further clarified saying that their emphasis and priorities are going to be on these two projects for this year and that they are manning up with more experience from Chandrayaan 2 to ensure that the same doesn’t have in the next mission. Sivan also stated saying that ISRO has also acquired the land that would be required for the setting up of the second spacecraft located in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. It is also going to be the site for the maiden launch of another space craft, the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV). The project has been approved by the government already and the allotted amount required for the project has also been sanctioned accordingly. Sivan said that the progress with the Chandrayaan 3 is going quite smoothly. When asked about why the budget of the Chandrayaan 3 is lesser than the Chandrayaan 3, Sivan explained saying that the orbiter from Chandrayaan 2, which is successfully orbiting the Moon around 100 kms away has a life span of around seven years. This is the reason why Chandrayaan 3 is going to be carrying just the rover and the lander. This is the reason why the cost of the mission has come down to around INR 6.5 billion instead of the expected INR 10 billion. The one factor that is the same for both of the projects is the Bahubali rocket. For the launch of the Chandrayaan 3, the scientists have decided that they are yet again going to make use of the India’s ‘fat boy’ geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle (GSLV). With all the information shared, there is still no specific date allotted to the final launch of the mission. The actual launch date is still being debated and the moment the same is finalized, it will be released to the public. Sivan explained saying that building and developing everything for the Chandrayaan 3 can take somewhere around 14- 16 months. Sivan also does believe that the launch could happen in 2021. Even for the Gangayaan project, Sivan hasn’t disclosed any kind of final launch date. ISRO is also working on a number of additional projects which they are going to complete by 2020.

It could be not getting a response to a message to someone telling you that you have a bad sense of humor. Do you think it is fair to take everything to heart and forget who you are? No! If you are affected today because someone said something to you or if your peace is always targeted when you hear bad about yourself, you should follow these tips and learn how to stop letting people bother you with their words or actions No 1 - Discern That You Are Not A Remote Control Can you predict or control what you are going to feel the next day? No, right? When you cannot do it for yourself, is it in your control to stop a person from feeling or saying what they want to? Every individual is different. Good and bad is there in all of us. You will find sensible people to the most evil- minded. We are in a world and it is quite obvious that you cannot escape how people think about you. Take Away It would make sense to feel bad if you were an automatic remote control. You could keep a check on what people say and think. In reality, you are not and when the control is not yours the best you can do is to let it go. No 2 - Time To Make A Few Choices If a friend of yours comes up with her opinion that is not in your favor. It can be disappointing, but, the choice is for you to make of ignoring it or taking it seriously. A situation will arise anytime, the tackling part is based on the choices you make. LIFE STYLE Take Away You either talk for yourself or don’t let it affect you. If you think it is worth molding and bringing up a few changes in yourself, then go for it. If you think cutting off with the person gives you peace, just go for it and if you want to be the mature one and ignore it, you can do it with all pleasure. No 3 - Look Into Yourself Is it always the opposite person who is at a fault? Isn’t it possible that even you are going wrong at somewhere? May be or maybe not. So, when you are upset with another person you need to look into yourself and see if you provoked or were a part of the upsetting situation or not. Take Away If you are upset that your friend is talking behind your

No 4 - Don’t Resort To Self-Blame It is good when you introspect and check what didn’t go right from your end. If you don’t find anything, you need to understand that there is nothing directly wrong with you. The person whose words are affecting you is going through a bad day or a rough patch himself/herself. If not this, then it is in the nature of a person to behave that way. Take Away It is tough to be saintly and understand if a person is speaking ill of you, but, whenever you come across a situation of blaming yourself, just tell yourself that it is not about you, but, it is the opposite person who is struggling. If it is a friend you can offer help and if you don’t know the person then you should choose to ignore what happened.

When you are the most affected, just keep your guard at that point in time, don’t react and the drama ends there. What you should do then? >Walk out of that place >Avoid having a conversation with anyone when you are upset > Just give yourself a break and let it not haunt your mind > Get busy > Count from 1 to 10 and then 10 to 1. Gulp down some water > After a few minutes talk to yourself and try to put yourself in the opposite person’s shoes No 6 - Speak Your Heart Out To A Well-Wisher A well-wisher will be your reflection who will hear you out and at the same time tell you what is it that went wrong from your end. This way you get a clear picture. Lighten your heart and share the reason for disappointment with a person who wishes good for you. • 73. JANUARY 2020 | WWW.WISHESH.NET filter anything you feel. Clearly let your emotions out > Let them know if they can be of help to you > Think over the suggestions they give you No 7 - Learn To Balance Your Emotions It is not practical to outrightly avoid what you feel. If the words are hurtful you are definitely going to feel bad or want to burst out in anger. Don’t stop yourself from feeling your emotions, let it come. Controlling them is the next step. It is left to you to control those emotions or have an unhealthy reaction to the situation. If you have a rapo with the person whom you are disappointed with you can directly talk to that person and this way you get to feel better. Take Away Allow yourself to go through the anger or pain and explain to yourself to get a grip over your emotions and choose healthy ways to let it out. Conclusion Letting go has true power and once you have mastered it you can face any difficulty. In the case of being totally upset by what people say, it is important that you get a hold of your emotions and let the world say what they have to say. You have the power to either stop it from bothering you or take it as an opportunity to improve. So all the people out there, stop seeing negativity the way it is, change your perspective and nothing in the world can disturb your peace.
