  7. 7. You need to make them feel excited, engaged, and most of all loyal to your company from day one.
  8. 8. In other words, you need an amazing onboarding program.
  9. 9. An onboarding program should last from the moment a job offer is accepted until several months into the hire’s employment.
  10. 10. 10 But for now, we’ll focus on one point in time:
  11. 11. Here are 5 things you need to do for your new hire's first day
  12. 12. 12  #1: Have the tech ready to go
  13. 13. You want your employee to be able to get to work as soon as they start (even if they won’t be doing anything major on that first day).
  14. 14. Put in an order with IT a week or so in advance. On day one, come in a bit early to make sure everything is set up and looking nice. Welcome! Sign in: Welcome! Sign in:
  15. 15. 15  #1: Have the tech ready to go  #2: Lay out a welcome package

  24. 24. But don’t depend on the email to introduce your new hire to the team. Take them around to meet key members of their department, and upper management.
