1. Expresa verdades (Warm air rises - El aire caliente sube) o permanencia (Her parents live
vida cotidiana (I get up late on Sundays - Me levanto tarde los domingos o I eat a lot of fruit - Como
mucha fruta).
nueve).
EJEMPLOS INCLUYEN:
• Afirmativo: I speak English and French (Hablo inglés y francés) - She speaks English and French
(Ella habla inglés y francés)
• Negativo: I don't (do not) smoke (No fumo) - He doesn't (does not) smoke (Él no fuma)
• Interrogativo: Do you speak Spanish? (¿Hablas español?) - Does she speak Spanish? (¿Habla ella
don't (do not) live in Madrid (No vivo en Madrid). Do you speak Spanish? (¿Hablas español?).
En segundo lugar, el auxiliar do toma la forma does para la tercer persona singular: She doesn't speak
French (Ella no habla francés). Does he live in Madrid? (¿Vive él en Madrid?)
2. Afirmativo:
1. I like cheese (Me gusta el queso)
2. You like cheese
3. He/She/(It) likes cheese
4. We like cheese
5. They like cheese
Negativo:
1. I don't like cheese (No me gusta el queso)
2. You don't like cheese
3. He/She/(It) doesn't like cheese
4. We don't like cheese
5. They don't like cheese
Interrogativo:
1. Do Ilike cheese? (¿A mí me gusta el queso?)
2. Do you like cheese?
3. Does he/she/(it)like cheese?
4. Do we like cheese?
5. Do they like cheese?
forma es la misma para todas las personas (I, you, he, she, it, we, they).
• Playwant → Playwanted
• Playlearn → Playlearned
• Playstay → Playstayed
• Playwalk → Playwalked
• Playshow → Playshowed
Excepciones:
• Be was (I, he, she, it) / were (you, we, they)
• Do did
• Have had
SUJETO + will/shall + VERBO
Affirmative subject + will + 1
• I will go to New York - Iré a New York
• He will go to New York - El irá a New York
Negative subject + won't (will not) + 1
• I won't go to New York - No iré a New York
• He won't go to New York - El no irá a New York
Interrogative Will + subject + 1 ?
• Will I go to New York ? - ¿Iré a New York ?
• Will he go to New York ? - ¿Irá él a New York ?
• She is studying English -> Ella está estudiando inglés (no precisamente ahora)
PODEMOS USAR EL PRESENTE CONTINUO PARA REFERIRNOS AACCIONES QUE SE VIENEN PRODUCIENDO
CON CIERTA FRECUENCIA.
• You are always working -> Estás siempre trabajando (lo hace frecuentemente)
• I am going to Madrid next week -> Voy a Madrid la semana que viene
• I am not eating now -> Yo no estoy comiendo ahora
• Are you eating? -> ¿Estás comiendo?
STRUCTURE (ESTRUCTURA)
AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES (Frases afirmativas)
Sujeto + verbo auxiliar ("to be") + gerundio.
Ejemplo :I was talking. (Estaba hablando.)
He was eating. (Estaba comiendo.)
They were learning. (Estaban aprendiendo.)
NEGATIVE SENTENCES (Frases negativas)
Sujeto + verbo auxiliar ("to be") + "not" + gerundio.
Ejemplo:
I was not [wasn't] talking. (No estaba hablando.)
He was not [wasn't] eating. (No estaba comiendo.)
INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES (Frases interrogativas)
Verbo auxiliar ("to be") + sujeto + gerundio?

eating.
We were eating. Were we eating? We were not eating.
You were eating. Were you eating? You were not eating.
They were eating. Were they eating? They were not eating.
"When" y "while" señalan el uso del pasado simple y continuo.
"while.“
Ejemplos:
Jose called while I was watching the news. (Jose llamó mientras estaba mirando las
noticias.)
He was walking to work when he fell.
pasado.
Ejemplos:
PlayPaula wasn't living in Spain in 2005.
2005.)
PlayWe were still working at 10 o'clock last night. (Todavía estabamos trabajando a
las 10 de la noche. )
EJEMPLO:
Para formar el futuro continuo se utilizan los verbos auxiliares "will" y "to be" y el gerundio (infinitivo + "-
ing") del verbo principal o se puede utilizar el verbo auxiliar "to be" y "going to be".
Sujeto Auxiliares Gerundio
I will be / am going to be talking, eating, learning, doing, going...
He, She, It will be / is going to be talking, eating, learning, doing, going...
You, We, They will be / are going to be talking, eating, learning, doing, going...
AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES (Frases afirmativas)
Estructura 1Sujeto + "will be" + gerundio...
Estructura 2Sujeto + verbo auxiliar ("to be") + "going to be" + gerundio...
EJEMPLOS:
I will be talking. / I'm going to be talking. (Estaré hablando.)
NEGATIVE SENTENCES (Frases negativas)
Estructura 1Sujeto + "will" + "not" + "be" + gerundio....
Estructura 2Sujeto + verbo auxiliar ("to be") + "not" + "going to be" + gerundio...
EJEMPLOS:
I will not [won't] be talking. / I'm not going to be talking. (No estaré hablando.)
INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES (Frases interrogativas)
Estructura 1Verbo auxiliar "will" + sujeto + "be"+ gerundio...?
Estructura 2Verbo auxiliar ("to be") + sujeto + "going to be" + gerundio...?
EJEMPLOS:
Will you be talking? / Are you going to be talking? (¿Estarás hablando?)
EJEMPLOS:
Play Jose will be [is going to be] watching the news when you call. (Jose estará mirando las
noticias cuando le llames.)
PlayWill it be [Is it going to be] raining when l leave?
futuro.
EJEMPLOS:
Play Paula will be [is going to be] living in Spain next April. (Paula estará viviendo en
España el próximo abril.)
PlayWe'll still be working [We're still going to be working] at 10 o'clock tomorrow night.
