Beavers announce opponents for 2013
BEMIDJI, Minn. – Head Bemidji State University baseball coach Tim Bellew has announced the 2013
baseball schedule. The Beavers will start the season Feb. 15 at H.H.H. Metrodome in Minneapolis,
Minn. and will begin conference play March 23 in Winona, Minn.
BSU starts the season against Northern State University with two seven inning games. Then the Beavers
will play one of the new-comers of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, University of Sioux
Falls, who they have not played since 2003 where they lost 4-1. Wayne State College, the two time
reigning conference champions, Minnesota State University, Mankato and will finish off the trip to the
dome March 4 against Minnesota State University, Duluth.
For the third consecutive season, the Beavers will travel to Arizona March 10-18 for six games at the
RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invitational.
Conference play begins against Winona State University with two, seven and a nine inning
doubleheaders. Then the Beavers will travel to St. Paul, Minn. to play Concordia University, St. Paul in
a four-game series and then they travel to play Wayne State April 3.
The Beavers will finish a 20-game road trip April 3 and will begin a 12-game homestand April 6 that
goes until April 21. The homestand will start off against the University of Mary in a four game series.
The second series is a two game set against Augustana College then another-two game series against
Minnesota State April 17 and the home stand ends with a four game series against Upper Iowa
University April 20-21.
BSU travels to the University of Minnesota, Crookston for a doubleheader April 24 and for a four-game
series against Minot State University who are also new to the conference. All-time, the Beavers are 2-1
against Minot State.
The Beavers will finish the season at home with two series’ starting May 1–4. The first series is a
double-dip against Southwest Minnesota State University who they put up a combined 22 runs against
last season. The regular season ends with a four-game series against St. Cloud State University.
