The Center for Entrepreneurship at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt was established in 2004 to conduct interdisciplinary research on entrepreneurship in service industries. It aims to develop and support entrepreneurial thinking in students through courses and involvement with practitioners. The Center has built a network of innovative companies, academics, and organizations through events and projects. Its research focuses on business startups, growth, innovations, and regional development through practical projects with companies.

The Center for Entrepreneursh!p was established in 2004 with the objective to built an interdisciplinary
research around the issue entrepreneurship in selected service industries. Initiator of the center was Prof. Dr.
Harald Pechlaner, holder of the endowment Chair of Tourism at the Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

4. Vision & Teaching
The Center for Entrepreneursh!p of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt serves the purpose to
develop and support entrepreneurial and innovative thinking and acting of the students.
It is important for success in an increasingly dynamic business environment to develop entrepreneurial
thinking to meet the challenges of increasing flexibility in the working world. For this reason, students of all
disciplines should be encouraged and supported towards their awareness of entrepreneurship. The CfE
demonstrates students entrepreneurship as an alternative to an employment relationship. Through the
involvement of practitioners in teaching and a theory-practice transfer timeliness and practical relevance
should be ensured.
The Centre for Entrepreneursh!p offers the following independent courses:

6. Networking
The Center for Entrepreneursh!p endeavors a close cooperation of science and practice. Out of this, a
network of particularly innovative companies, business people, academic institutions, their teaching staff
and motivated students was created. This network was expanded within the "Entrepreneurship Community"
- consisting of universities and colleges, associations, and numerous organizers of business plan
competitions - on a regional, national and international level. In this field numerous events and projects
take place and support the development of the entrepreneurial culture at the Catholic University EichstättIngolstadt.

Thematically the research of the Centre for Entrepreneursh!p deals with business issues in the areas of
services, tourism and new media & communication. The following research approaches are focused:
Business start-ups and possible (innovative) ways into self-employment
Business Growth
Entrepreneurship in established companies
Development of innovations and competitive potential
Funding opportunities for entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
Regional and location development
The research projects of the center are designed very practical, in other words in particular research will
take place in the form of projects with companies.
